Hardware store might be your best bet..... Maybe Wally World, you might get lucky and actually get someone who knows what they are doing?

I gave up for the day and just went up to help Future9er24 with his II. I'm sure tomorrow will be even harder being President's Day.

nahhhhhh I dont think locksmiths and hardware stores observe that Holiday. Thats mainly a bank and Post Office thing around here. Heck, I work for the City and we dont even get it off as a Holiday.

The dealership does not have to cut the key for you, all they have to do is provide you with the key code based off of the VIN#. From their a hardware store or locksmith with a neat little software program, can cut one based off of that code. When i used to work for a hardware store with a locksmith department, we used to charge about 15 bucks for this. Otherwise if you find the other half, its really easy to peice the two together and cut a new one (if you can find someone to attempt it) I know i used to do this all the time.

I found the other piece. Going to the locksmith right now to see if he will cut a new key based on what I have.

Well, now I have a new key that works. It was 4 bucks at a locksmith right down the street from me. The same one that quoted $85 to come here and make a key from the lock itself. Thank God I found that other piece.

But of course. I had to come home to test it before I went overboard making copies of keys that didn't work. I'll get more tomorrow.
