I heard it was easy and cheap? My tumbler will sometimes turn out of place and I cant get my key in till I wiggle it back and forth, plus the door DING is always on 3/4s of the time.

Thanks

Good luck... because the next thing that is gonna go will be the actuator rod inside the column.

I still haven't fixed mine in the cobra.... kinda a pain in the ass.

If this thing is as easy as my tbird was then its cake. What I had to do was put the key in the forward position. Theres a little tab that you need to push in from under the cylinder that will release the tumbler and it will just slide out.

remove the lower portion of the steering wheel trim. turn the key to run...you will see under the tumbler where there is a pin....push the pin in (the key must be turned to run) and pull it out. 5 min job.

Well that's got me excited for replacing mine. Mine can be started with anything you can get leverage on, and the ring thing around it can be spun all the way around... which is handy for making the door shut up when you're working inside and don't want to undo the battery haha

haha, I think I had mine out at least 6 or 7 times in the last two weeks alone. I think I paid around $10 for the replacement at autozone if I'm not mistaken.

I got mine for 25 at Autozone. It took me a hell of a lot more than 5 minutes. Make sure that your key is not turned to run, just to the point past the lock. Then shove a screwdriver into the view hole and push it around until you hear a click, then start pulling it while turning it toward the run position.

17 dollars at oreillys. Threw mine in there in 30 seconds. You don't need to remove the trim
