I guess everyone goes through their big sub stage. I remember being 18 years old and two 15's in the trunk and rattling my car apart. But now days I won't go bigger then 10's. No need to.

My type-R 10's in my mustang even seem like too much. I'm going with 8's in the vette ressessed in the back. It's all I need especially with that hatch and it will sound perfect.

Quality > Quantity.

My cousin had an L5 back in the day and blew the voice coils apart on it with a crazy amp. I now have that amp for the type-R's. lol

The gain control is not a volume control... Undoubtedly why the coils blew apart. I love my L7 12. I'd never go any bigger then it however, one sounds incredible, and can go as loud as most peoples double 12 setups. I can't imagine a 15 in a mustang.

Built a box that would squeeze in there. And it does.. barely. Built a kicker box to their specs originally when I had a hatchback that would fit the world in it, that one was ported 2.5cuft. When I installed the system into the mustang the only way that box fit... was to hack it up and make it much much smaller. I'm honestly not even sure of the dimensions now. It's probably about 1 cu.ft, maybe a touch more, and sealed. Still sounds really good, the bass is a lot more tight however, it doesn't hit the really deeeep notes it used to. But i'm still happy.
