My rear main seal has been leaking for awhile and my throwout bearing just started screeching like a mofo so I was on the hunt for a new clutch. Got the King Cobra kit from CJPP shipped for $160. Wondered if anyone had any experience with it. I figured it would be better than the stock piece.

The only plans for the motor are GT40 heads, cam, and whatever intake I can get a good deal on.

It's a nice upgrade over stock for sure. Heavier than stock but its only marginal. I've ran one in my fox and have one in my 94 cobra now. It's plenty of clutch for what your planning. Great clutch for the money.

Great! Should have it in and the windows done next week. I may need a firewall adjuster on it too. My knee slams in the steering wheel everytime I speed shift now.

There a good clutch ,the ford HD Is way to stiff I would never drive with one of those. I installed one in a customers car then had to teach the kid how to drive standard did a 5spd conversion at the same time . The kid was shaking from the stuff pedal or just nervous lol

Get the UPR click type adjuster they work great. I have them on both cars. I've had other loose adjustment. Only like $20.

UPR had a kit with the cable and adjuster but it was quite a bit more. And I've always heard to get a Ford cable and that aftermarket one are junk. Any truth to that?

I run a MM cable with the UPR adjuster. I've run other cables the OEM/MM cables are the best. I thought it was bullshit until a friend told me. The clutch has never felt better. It was good enough that I run the same exact setup in both of my sn95's.

Went with the Steeda quick release quadrant and firewall adjuster. Forgot you needed the adjuster and the quadrant together so no gauges. Been trying to get those damn gauges since I bought the car and I always find something else that needs doing.

^+1 use a motor craft tob. I used center force, ram and an frpp tob. Motor craft lasted the longest. I have a pro 5.0 shifter. Everyone seems to be using mgw these days never had the opportunity if using one but love my pro 5.0.
