Well I was running short on time and decided to use one of those car washes where you pull in and use the high pressure wand and brush and all that crap. First time and last time I will ever do this again. I start to rinse the car down then I use that god awful brush on my hood. I go to spray it off with that high pressure wand and it starts to spray my hood stripes off and a small amount of paint came with it as well. EXTREMELY pissed off, but then I remembered that I had a set of hood stripes that say "02GT" and all is good. The car is going into paint tomorrow to repaint the front bumper, paint match the grille delete and fix the small chip on the hood caused by that hose. Pics will be up when she gets home.

So.....moral of the story, ALWAYS hand wash lol

I have a pressure washer at my house and it has a suds option. I first soak the car with the suds, let it soak then hit it with the pressure washer, the trick is to stay the proper distance and proper spray type, and I have yet to have it damage my paint.

Yeah I was the standard distance away from the car, maybe it was a sign from god to put my new stripes on? haha idk. But definitely the last time I use one of em.

Well I thought everyone knew not to use that brush thing, God only knows where that thing has been. Secondly you hit vinyl stripes with a pressure washer, what did you expect to happen?

Wow, how did you do that? I been using the car wash booth (manual one) for over 5 years with the old stang. Never had a problem. I usually spend a good 20 seconds @ the start spraying the brush down with the high pressure water gun to remove rocks/dirts the best i can.

That sucks

I use them for the water gun and the shade. I bring a bucket, and don't bother with the wand. The water pressure has never been strong enough to ever do damage on my car before.

I used to use it on my old 94 and had no problems with it. Oh well, new stripes and paint is fine by me.

ummm yeah those power washers are designed for washing your car lol...the reason they came off is because those stripes werent painted on ur car. thats probably the best way to wash your car IMO because if your one of those people that only wash your car at home to be safe its probably not as safe as you think. most water from your hoses at your house have a high concentrate of iron in it which isnt good for your paint at all...

I found one that has a low presure hose. I never use the high presure hose on my car. I don't want this to happen again.
