i just recently replaced my original water pump with 122k miles on it and now that that leak is sealed up i believe it opened another leak up even more. im not exactly sure where its leaking from but its dripping off of the passanger side of the radiator.

im going to really look at it this weekend and see but anyone have any ideas of what it may be? do i need a new radiator?

on the corners of the radiators there are like, black peices that make up the entire corner, not sure what youd call that. i saw a little bit of coolant around there, is that where is could be leaking from?

im going to take it off and just get the radiator tested somewhere but any usefull information i get on here would be appreciated thanks

the endtanks are the black plastic pieces that run along the side. the parts the hoses attach to. my passenger side leaked at the are where the endtank attached to the main metal core part of the radiator. i couldnt physically see the leak until a removed the radiator from the car and hooked a hose to one end and ran water through the radiator.

you could just drain the radiator, remove the hoses, and run water through it while it is still in the car. you would need a new radiator

i just checked Advance Auto Parts website for a 96 cobra radiator, their price is 128.99. my v6 radiator cost $190 :(

no problem, changing it isnt too bad, the only problems i ran into was with my auto tranny cooler, but you wont have to worry about that with a cobra

i suggest trying to track down a crack on the radiator somewhere. i dont know what kind of radiator a lincoln continental uses, but my buddy's had a crack right down the passenger side... very thin crack, very short, very hard to see, had to pull the radiator.

I dare to say, if there is no coolant on any hoses, and the coolant is on the radiator/radiator support, im guessing its the radiator.

how much did the radiator run you?

did you have any trouble removing the old one? i got a little frustrated with mine when the battery was in the way of it sliding out easily

i paid about 150 flat

i called autozone, pep boys, advanced auto parts and none of them had the radiator i needed and all needed to place an order and it wouldnt come until the next day. i think pep boys wanted like 130 for the same radiator, but i couldnt wait a day bc saturday was the only time i could do it, so i called a local junky and they ordered the part new for 150 and it came in an hour.

taking out the old one was a breeze. the only thing that was a PITA was taking off those terrible stock hose clamps haha. which i replaced with new ones bc i never want to deal with stock clamps again

Best thing you could have done.. The stock "clamps" are pieces of crap.

yeah man i hate them with a burning passion. a while ago i was using channel locks to get one off and it was in a tight spot. somehow it slipped while i was squeezing it closed and it snapped back and literally split my nail in half
