I did a search and didn't find anything that can help.

I am having a problem with my ligts diming. I have a stock 94 Gt with just some flows. I have had the car for about 8 months and it just started doing this about 1 month ago. Yesterday I felt like the car was about to die.

I don't think the car has pully's on it. The owner of the car was an old lady when I bought it.

Any help on where I can start.

Thanks in advance

Take it to your local parts shop and have them check your battery and charging system.

use a volt meter to check your voltage. First check it w/ the engine off, and then check it with the engine running and radio on, a/c on max, lights on, etc... With a healthy charging system(w/0 under drive pulleys) and engine at idle the voltage should be higher than when the engine is off.

explain how they are dimming a little more..... like does it do it at a certain time ie when you hit a bump, or when the car is idling....?

I would take the car or just the alternator to your local parts shop and have the charging system or alt tested(Most places it's free).

I agree ^ also make sure all those wires coming off the alternator are tight, and look for corrosion, or melted wires. good Luck

do you have any subs, amps, or aftermarket lights? And when they dim, is the heater on full blast?

The voltage output of the alternator should be approximatly 14 volts at IDLE. If its at 12V and you turn on your headlights and blower, check it, and i garuntee it will be below 11V, which would cause the ligths to dim. No need to take it anywhere to get checked out, this is pretty simple stuff.

if all the stuff said above checks out to be ok, check the ground wire, my car was acting up like yours and it turned out to be the ground wire wasnt tight enough
