Re: ANOTHER EXHAUST THREAD FOR ME!!

you think wrong. :nonono:

I got under the car to check out my catback and the condition of the piping and like the only benefit of buying a whole catback on the same size piping would be the cutout in the stock one for a wider tire, I put my hand around all the piping and when it goes above the axle it gets about 1/4 of a finger nail smaller which imo isn't a big deal at all.

I don't get what you mean :dunno:

A catback really won't net you much power at all. Not with a stock NPI. It's mostly for sound. Midpipe's are where most the gains are.

He means the area where the catback kinks down over the axles. Using the highly technical finger test, he's determined that it necks down one finger nails worth :hammer:

It would be a big deal if you were moving more air, but you're not.

haha it's very high tech

exactly, soemone earlier said that it would be a waste if I got a highflow midpipe and welded in mufflers. I was just thinking about it and it really isn't a bad flowing stock catback besides the mufflers... maybe if I had a 500 hp car then I might go with a whole catback because of 1/8 inch but my tips look perfect IMO and they're bigger than all the other sn95 years :) :)

Re: ANOTHER EXHAUST THREAD FOR ME!!

thanks for looking out for me, but I'm gonna have to get catted :(

I called magnaflow and they gave me the part number for the muffler that's in the catback, #14336, Is the stock catback tubing 2.5 inches on 98's? I know 98 has bigger pipes than the other years.

No, it's 2.25. Most of the gain on the 98 was in the tune.

alright, thanks, that changes the part # then, you think I should get satin stainless or polished stainless?

The 2.5" catback will still fit. Your stock piping is 2.25". I'd just get the satin.
