ha, didnt ford have a simular situation with the Terminators?

No I believe 03-04 Cobra owners were experiencing a sudden "lead foot syndrome", leading Ford to believe it was sticking pedals, when
in fact it was operational error.. haha.

It's amazing to me that the way they put it across, is as if the toyota owners are riding along, the pedal gets stuck, and they just throw their hands up and go die. Atleast some people have the common sense to turn the car off.

Similar to the people who sued their gps company because the maps were outdated and they drove into a lake. Do you really not have that much common sense to think hey I'm about to drive into a lake, I should probably stop now. WTF people seriously? gawd ignorant people=my pet peeve

I'll say this i think people get dumber by the day! I see it so much at my work and it's sad. I used to be weak at grammar and Proper English. I now find myself correcting people all the time. Just like the lady that Sued McD's for spilling HOT FREAKING COFFEE on herself.

LOTS of people. Did you hear the 911 call of some lady screaming because the gas pedal got stuck when her husband was driving? They had no idea what to do. They crashed and all or most of the family was killed.

People are dumb. As soon as that story hit the news, my first thought was "umm... turn the key."

Paul.

i say let it stick, yank the e-brake, jerk the wheel, and tokyo-drizzift like a mofo....

At least then you'll die as a thrill-seaking moron instead of an incompitent tard.

hell, i'd keep the car on until i came to a stop, pop it in neutral and letting it rev keeps your power brakes and steering working. once im not moving, then i'd shut her off and put her in park

Biggest problem was people with the push button start paniced when the car was stuck wide open and couldnt figure out that you had to push the button again to shut the car off, they were looking for a key to turn. I love the people with Lexus's who were like "what do you mean my car has the same problem, its not a toyota" derp... yes it is

Yea...I mean, Even yanking the ebrake to the sky and jerking the wheel would have been better then flying off the road at 120 mph.

Regardless, hittin the brake and throwin the stick into neutral would have been my first reaction to that.

Its real easy to say "I'd just drop it in neutral" and stuff but when shit happens, most people aren't thinking clearly. My mom's PT Loser's pedal got stuck under one of her big ash rubber mats she had in it while I was coming up the driveway. I freaked, I ended up slamming the brakes and ripping the ebrake before I was able to slide the mat back. Doing that at highway speeds on a road full of people wouldn't be the brightest idea.

Most people suck at life though....

Ive had plenty of shit happen to me where I have had to react in a split second. I would know immediately if my car stuck wot and would be able to handle my car/ not hit anything/ and throw it into neutral fastenough to not run off the road.

I mean the guy called and had a conversation with the 911 operator for christ sake.....you really dont think he had time to press the brake and slide a knob up a click?

Today I heard that it's actually a problem with the mechanism and its NOT because the pedal is sticking under the floor mat. yes turning off the key is the obvious choice but turn it too much and the steering locks lol.

Just FYI Lexus models share very little with Toyota for the most part. They read off the list of cars on the radio that are effected by this and there were no Lexi mentioned, they did however mention the Pontiac Vibe lol.
