Its real easy to say "I'd just drop it in neutral" and stuff but when **** happens, most people aren't thinking clearly. My mom's PT Loser's pedal got stuck under one of her big ash rubber mats she had in it while I was coming up the driveway. I freaked, I ended up slamming the brakes and ripping the ebrake before I was able to slide the mat back. Doing that at highway speeds on a road full of people wouldn't be the brightest idea.

i had the exact thing happen to me and i threw it in neutral :dontknow:

or better yet if the floor mat was getting in the way how hard is it just to take it out? but the whole pedal thing is because they changed it to this fly-by-wire thing just like on the ford trucks. the farther you press the pedal the more the throttle body opens.

its not "because" of the Fly-By-Wire. it is for the Toyota's that were manufactured in North America.

the North American Toyota's use the pedal assembly from the company CTS, who deny producing bad pedals.
Japanese imported Toyota's use pedal assemblies directly from Toyota, specifically Denso. they have no problems.

vehicles such as my mother's 4Runner are assembled in Aichi and Tokyo, Japan and then imported to the US. vehicles such as the Sequoia and Tundra and assembled in the San Antonio, TX .
