Just getting ideas for things that I want to change, the shifter is a big one, its kind of uncomfortable and a long reach for me. I'm a big old school hot rod kind of guy, so I really dig the Hurst with a white ball. Who's changed shifters or arms so it reaches forward more? and what works with the factory leather boot?

I had the hurst shifter with the cueball shifter, but I think it is actually harder to reach than my MGW shorty. The hurst is tall and doesn't actually go backwards much.. That's just my experience. Oh, and it rattled like crazy.

the roush shifter handle is a long throw, I have it at the lowest setting and it's still long as hell. But it's definitely a solid shifter.

i have the stock shifter in my car. i feel like im driving a semi

You've never drove a semi or big pickup then have you lol?
ive ridden in a semi and i learned how to drive a stick in a 3500 dodge. and occasionally drive an F-500

Alright, that's cool. A lot of people say they feel like they're driving a semi, but my stock shifter felt freakin short compared to my pickups and semi (only things i've driven till my stang). Just wondered if you actually had drove some big stuff before lol. Not trying to be a stick by the way.

I've tried may different shifter arms with the pro5.0 base (stock, 5.0 short stick, steeda tri-ax, roush). Out of all of those, I like the roush shifter handle the most. It threw the shifter back a couple of inches compared to the stock location, and being that long, it also gives you a ton of leverage, which makes the shifting smoother.

ReplicaR, thats definitely the kind of reach I'm looking for. Do you have any quick links to it? I'll try to see if I can find just the arm somewhere. Do you know if they have a white ball instead?

Yes very lucky for you! It sucks that is just for the ball/arm/boot, not even the shifter itself! But that is perfect though. I wish Hurst made one at that angle..

You don't need the boot. I made my own. Cut it about half way, tucked the cut edge inside, and stitched it up on the bottom.

Also, I got my stuff used for 35 bucks. And I did not have to get a Roush Mustang either. lol
