Alright, some of you saw I was considering getting a salvage Mach I. I pretty much decided not to, for 2 reasons, 1. Frame damage, 2. Didn't want to spend the money.
Got home and told the husband this, and he disagreed strongly, and has pretty much told me he wants me happy, (got real upset when I said I wasn't getting the mach), and is insisting I get another car or something I will like, whether I want to or not. He said he is going to pay off my car, and then I can either:
1. buy a junker daily driver, and start spending a little more money on blue
2. supercharge blue immediately (don't think she is ready for that)
3. buy a mach I that's in good shape (I am driving a couple hours on Monday to go to the place I think Matt bought his from).

They have a black 03 mach I with 16,000 miles and an orange 04 mach I with 30,000 miles that I want to look out.

If you had to do 1, 2, or 3, what would be your choice?
I am leaning towards #3.

Side note: I have strong reservations on doing any of these, as my daughter has said, if I do, he will just get mad later when I spend time on whatever I decide, but at the same time, he is being pretty insistent... and it's also hard to say no...

Javi, you do, this is why I'm so confused. But I keep thinking a Mach I would be so awesome, but then I think I'll neglect Blue, and feel bad, and he keeps insisting I should get the Mach I, and I keep thinking I don't want to spend any money, and he keeps insisting I do...

I could say no to new furniture or jewelry... really hard to say not to these choices...

Re: opinions/what would you do???

The Machs are awesome. I picked my junker up at bill fox. The only thing that guy does is rebuild these cars. He does an excellent job. The cars look like new when they are done.

I say get the Mach. My next stang will be a Mach.

Blue, get the Mach. Bill Fox does awesome work on the junkers he gets and rebuilds. He spares no expence in the repairs. Get the Mach, you will not regret it. My next stang will most likely be a Mach.

Thank you Matt, was really hoping for your opinion on this, since you have dealt with him. Was going to buy one of his salvage Mach's, but I'm afraid of the bent frame thing...

Re: lost... (opinions?)

This guy is 110% legit. He does not sell junk. If he can't fix the cars he buys he strips them for parts for is other cars.

This guy won't think twice about throwing a whole car in the shit can if it is not what he is told it was. Anything that is covered in blood and stuff like that goes away. He won't use it.

His shop is full of cars in various state of rebuild. He is well organized and has been doing this since the 1970's if I remember correctly.

Supercharge your car. Since you already have the car, and it will be more cooler having a blown gt rather then a mach 1.

Re: opinions/what would you do???

Mel, taking into consideration your situation, I would say option 1. is best for you. Get Blue paid for, and get a backup ride.

That way you can spend more time on Blue, save a ton of money on installs, get the car exactly how YOU want it, and be financially secure car-wise.

Re: opinions/what would you do???

Thank you guys for opinions... no clue which way I'll go yet, but I really value what you guys have to say, which is why I posted in the backroom first... you all know my situation is not normal, and my judgement gets a little skewed at times... so your input is valued...

Re: lost... (opinions?)

First, does it have a clean title or not?

Salvage title=NO as you'll NEVER get what you paid for it out of it if you ever decide to sell it.

Frame damage also is a bitch so you should probably get ahold of the shop and see exactly how much it'd cost to do what you want before you decide anything.

And btw I know its not my business but your husband might want to just take a step back for a second and chill. Ultimately it's your choice on what you want to do, don't get talked into something you're not comfortable with and if he really wants you to be happy he'll respect your decision and trust that YOU know what's gonna make you happy in the end. If that happens to be just sticking with what you have and upgrading it then so be it.
