I was installing and testing my led tail lights this afternoon and have ran into a small problem. The leds work, the output for the tail lights works, hazzards but the brake lights seem to have lost power for some reason. Tried the old light as well as a different light and they all do the same thing. I have checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood but they are all good. Is there a fusable link for just the drivers side brake light?

I think its the multi-function switch. I can take the light I modded and plug it into the passenger side and it works perfectly but when I put it on the drivers side, the parking lights work but the brake/turn signals are dead. I was looking over the schematic here and I see no fusable links. I traced the wire back to the back seat where it continues in the hrns up the drivers side. At the hrns in the back there are two wires for the brake lights(one drivrs one pass) and it seems to split out at the switch from what I can tell in the schematic.

in the midths of my preperation for harry carry, I had a thought................. - movie quote worth 20 pts if you know it.

But just as I hit enter on that post I thought of what it could be, and it was the multi function switch. One other time while I was driving after turning on my hazzards I noticed that my turn signals were not working. This was shortly after I bought her from my mom and while I did my best to keep her clean all those years the area on the steering column had gathered some dust. I guess when I hit the hazzard some of that dust must have got down into it and if you look at the schematic the hazzard switch is the last part of the multifunction switch. I pushed the hazzard switch 5-6 times and they started working....

Remembering that earlier problem, I ran downstairs to cycle/clean my hazzard switch out and sure enough it all works now. Give me 30 mins I will post pics of what the lights look like.

Thanks for the replys, cycle/clean your hazzard switch from time to time......
