here's is a great suggestion! dont paint a numbered car any other color that what it came as! Lazer Red look's absolutely gorgeous when done correctly! you will love your car in the same color with a new paintjob done by a good shop that will clear correctly and polish the crap out of the car! trust me...

yeah thats a good suggestion its just that it cost waaayy to much just for the paint if i keep it laser red and then all the maintenance needed to keep it from fading again. idk i'm sure i would like it. what i might do is fix all the hail dents and everything wrong with the body then prime the car with black primer until i get enough money to paint it lazer red. i hate looking at the faded paint. lol and the painter at the shop i work at is gonna give me a deal on painting the car.

suggestion. ...... DO NOT drive around with primer on your car. Primer was never meant to withstand the elements. next time you see a car in primer in the rain ..take a good look..the water soaks into the primer causing rust. not to mention any oil that you spill on the car will soak in and when the new paint is sprayed it will flake off the first time you wash it. just deal with the paint until you can get it redone. BTW Lazer Red is the way to go.

^ this guy is so right. just deal with the shitty paint man. pluss if you ride arownd in primer all this grit and grime from the road will get soaked up and when you go to spry your car you will have fish eyes all over and it will do nuthing but piss you off more and more. so juat leave the paint for now and wait. E9 is a sweet color i wouldnt change it at all. good luck with the cobra man

Nice progress..

Our cars are twins...

Except mine is a 96!

Mine even has some clearcoat failure just like yours hahah... I agree with everyone else though, dont change the color. Laser Red is awesome, and the car will hold on to its value if its wearing the correct color.
(Oh and please lower it)

I LOVE Lazer Red...I would just get it re-painted the same color, and replace or clean the top!

As far as fading goes, as long a you keep it waxed and protected, you shouldn't have a problem with fading. If you get the car painted black or blue, you'll have major fading problems as well since the dark colors attract sunlight and heat. It'll also cost you a lot more money to get it painted a different color, considering the car is red now. To get it done correctly, you'd have to pull the motor and all the interior to get the jams and a-pillars done, as well as the bumpers and trunk so all the cracks and panels match.

If you aren't worried about the whole car matching, then I don't see why you are worried about the fading...Dark color car with red engine bay and jams = looks like major poop!

lol :D

yeah the more i think about it i should keep it red. i just hate looking at the paint if the paint didn't cost so damn much i would already had it painted. i guess its because i'm used to seeing nice paint. either when it was on my camaro, mustang, or all the other cars i've owned. but i'm just gonna suck it up and wait. it will come along eventually :)

definitely! I'm not sure how the auto industry is up where you are at, but I know down here in So. Fla. all you gotta do is go out, make friends and meet now people...Then BAM! You are getting a paint job for 1/2 price lol
