low idle while in gear?

My car idles fine when not it gear but as soon as i pull it down into gear the idle falls off to around 4 or 500, it causes the car to shake a little causes its idling so low! I tried turning the idle screw up but all that does is make it idle to high when its in park! any ideas?

shouldnt really ever touch the idle screw, it can work sometimes, but it will only work for a brief period of time, trust me.

the idle while in-gear is computer controlled. do you have a handheld tuner of some kind? if so you can change the idle rpm with it. if not, and its not throwing a light, you may want to take it to a tuner and see if they can hook you up with a quick check.
