I might or might not have the power steering pump, will have mechanical water pump and thats it for accessories. Is there anything to mount it low? Preferably on the passenger side?

My question is there a bracket to mount it low. Not even with the valve cover but below the head.

Are you running fox or SN95 timing cover. There's a good solution if you're running fox timing cover/water pump. Let me see if I can find the picture from my old racecar.

Moroso has one to use with the "fox" timing covers. Unfortunately there isnt much of an option to use with the SN95 timing covers, unless you want to buy something like the Moroso kit and modify it to suit.

I was going to reuse the SN95 cover but I dont have too. Is the water pump different? Wouldnt really matter. I have to get a new one anyway.

What all is needed to change to a fox cover?

Easy to swap. Might need some different bolts. Fox water pumps have longer shafts and extend further off the face of the timing cover than SN95.

So what is going to happen with the pulley on the water pump? Is it not going to line up anymore? Would have have to change the crank pulley?

You would need entirely different pulleys, yes. Fox and SN95 are not the same.

So, what class are you intending to race in? How is the car setup now? Pics? What's your budget?

F it. Im going with either a CHP street fighter alternator bracket or a March alt bracket.

The car is under construction now and trying to finish it for the spring.
I want to start off light but in a few years move into CMC or American Sadan

well Im starting off without it. I got a manual rack already and if I dont like it then I will change it back and keep the manual rack for a drag car project later down the road. Im doing the same with non power brakes.

By the way, you're going to want power steering. Trust me.

Yes- Paul +1, in fact you HAVE TO run power steering in cmc/cmc2 Same with power brakes. If you take the leap to American Iron X you can do whatever. Also, you will not be eligable for points in CMC if you do not have the factory setup for brackets/ power steering. Not trying to bring you down, just warning you. Ive been running CMC/CMC2 for over 5 yrs. Let me know if you need any help with setting the car up. I have a nice setup that has won us many races on the west coast. :)

You're nuts.

Instead of building the car whatever way you want, you should probably buy a rule book and start reading. My car was illegal for all kinds of classes because it wasn't setup a certain. It sucked because it was required to run against crazy stuff and big-money racecars.
