did you park it at an angle? I hated having a low oil light. If i parked at any incline it would come on and stay on.

It could be a bad sensor or just being parked at a weird angle. I know my Low Coolant sensor is berserk. My coolant has being staying full and every now and then it'll come on. If I leave it turned off for a couple of minutes, it doesnt come back on.

They're handy. I had a time when I was slowly leaking oil and didnt know it. Light saved my ass, that and the extra quart I always carry with me.

It does suck having a built in low oil protection...

when that light came on, I was down 1 quart every 300miles, it was a good friend last year haha, this year, the bulb is gone and so is the sensor in the "super duper cool guy pan"

The light comes on once in a while! but if i shut the car off and turn it back on a short while later it doesnt come back on! i'm assuming it's a bad sensor...

It's not a bad sensor, the sensor is in the back of the pan. When you park with the front end lower then the rear, the oil moves to the front of the pan and triggers it.

Basically, just make sure the car is on a level plain. If not your going to get a low oil light if its on steep decline or incline, or if your just at the min level on your dip stuck with all the above.

Mine came on today while leaving a gas station on a incline. I turned the car off once i got back on the flat street and the light was still on.

So i pulled into autozone and brought a quart. Poured a little in and it went off.

It will stay on the whole time the car is on after it is triggered. After the car is shut off it takes some time to reset.

Alright, didn't know that. I know it has a leak @ the rear main seal, but maybe it was the steep incline that triggered it.
