Aside from the question if the Camino is a good buy, you seem to have three options, based on the above:

1) Get the Camino or another classic V8. Then in two months time you run the risk of having a broken old Camino and a Mach without AC and no money or car
2) Get a cheap DD. You save money by driving the DD and use this money to fix the Mach. And then you have a nice DD and a great Mach.
3) You do not buy a DD, use the money to fix the Mach, and you use a great Mach as DD

I think you need to make up your mind about choices 1-3 before trying to find a car.

looks like a 305 to me. i know its not a 350. ud know too if it was a 350. itd sound a little mean. even in stock form. but ima go with a 305. dont care for them but itll keep the Mach rested and thats a plus

I love people who say stuff like this, tell me inspector, exactly what gave it away? Do you have both X-ray visions and laser micrometers in your eyes? Tell me, is it a 2 bolt or four bolt?

Anywho, I, personally, love these things, and it's likely a 305, but who really cares? Chevy isn't Ford, they don't change things for the hell of it because the day ends in a y, so any engine you feel like will fit in there if it comes to that. And a 200r4 will bolt in if it doesn't have one already and give you OD, I say doooit.

Well, a Sammy can fit like anywhere, two guys can pick one up, half ton axles are bulletproof in them, and any V6 is a huge power upgrade lol

I can buy a nice Sammi for $2k or a broken Jeep for $4k.

305 and 350 are the same size externally. have to look at block casting numbers to know for sure which it is, all SBC sound the same stock aswell....

i'd pay $800-1200 for it and do an LQ9 swap keeping fuel injection and the 4l60e, but as a project not a daily....

M'fukkin BINGO. Someone with some sense. That wheezy-a$ sh1tbawks 305 ain't worth a damn boat anchor. You're an idiot for saying you want it as a DD and then "i wanna restore it." Pick one...you can't have both. 2k is not a deal. I bet the guy probably says "Its got 130,000 ORIGINAL miles." Note that if you say original when describing the mileage, you're a tool. Take the 2k and get a honda dd or better yet, a bike and a shitty truck. Ride the bike daily, truck when it rains or you need to haul parts. Race car on cruises and nice days....

I pad $3k for my jeep runs like a top and if I wanted more power y swap in a v6 when I can swap in a v8 with no problem. Also never had problems with it fitting anywhere i wanted to go and never had a need to pick it up its never left me stuck. I have to agree to disagree that samurais are any better than a jeep.
