QFT! You didnt even pay for the car kid, and you B**** and complain about it non-stop. Seriously, I hope you crash it, not to be a jerk or anything, because an Azure blue mach 1 is like a dream street car for me, but be happy with what you got. Most of us had to work our butts off to have what we have.

Honestly though, What's wrong with the system? I have the mach 460 speakers with an alpine head unit with an alpine 450w mono-block with a 10" kicker and people can't believe my system is basically factory. If you don't like the sound, a better head unit helps ALOT, the mach 460 head unit isn't the greatest out there lol.

Oh and just to specifically answer what you asked, changing speakers will not help as much on volume and "tuning" than swapping in a better head unit. Then its time for an amp... or multiple if you wanna roll with the big dogs.

Correct me if I am wrong, but i think this thread was for radio related stuff right? Not B*tching about someone else's bitching. I think its SN95 Forums, not tween girl gossip forums..

Anyways, i thought the same thing with my 460 speakers. I got a new Pioneer head unit, and i love it. It has the ipod hook up, and the sound is so much clearer. Head unit is the way to go, and if you still arent bumpin hard enough, it will be easier to upgrade to newer speakers witha new headunit.

I said it before and I will say it again, aftermarket head unit + subwoofer/amp of choice(I have a 10" kicker with a 450w alpine monoblock)= Great sound. They used the Mach 460 in the Cobra's for a reason...

Ya, I thought about doing that, but it sounds good enough for me.

mine just snow-balled.

first one of my stock speakers blew. so i replaced those

then my speakers didnt sound so good with the stock radio and playing my ipod was nearly impossible, so a new radio went in

and then the music began to sound "tinny", so the Sub came along

lol

NO factory stereo will be nearly as good as an aftermarket at the same rate the upgrade from the factory is thats why I didnt care that my car came without it.

Mach460 is now a very old system, its only about 50 watts per speaker, my stereo puts 350RMS per speaker (mach460 is prob 20rms). The setup was about $400 and I bought mach460 tweeter pods so that the install looks stock.

exactly, i will always get the basic audio system in any car i get. the cost to upgrade the audio from the factory is usually more than buying a complete aftermarket system after the purchase of the car. and they will sound much better.

and having a "upgraded" audio from the factory just makes adding aftermarket audio later harder and more frustrating.

keeping the stereo simple is the easy way to be able to upgrade inexpensively, this is all true for people that wanna upgrade their car's stereo and electronics.

if your a person that leaves it stock, the upgraded factory stereos is a great way to sound good and not have to worry about component selection, head unit features, etc. True, the Mach 460, or even the newer Mach 1000 doesn't hold a candle to the fancy aftermarket stuff, but stock engines have nothing on the aftermarket as well, right? same goes for wheels, etc. What I am saying is that the stock stuff may not be totally awesome, but its pretty damn good compared to what they used to call a stereo in a factory fresh car, and they are only getting better.

I recommend a set up of Infinity Kappa components in the front with a set of Infinity Kappa in the rear(non components). A V series 4 channel amp for price and performance. A set of 2 10" subs, NOT 12". Preferably Rockford Fosgate or Kicker. At least subs that want 250 watts and get DVC subs so you can wire them to lower loads, probably a 2 ohm load so you can run a D class amp. Then either run a sealed or ported box. If you listen to white people music sealed, if Obama style music than probably ported... Then I'd run another v series, if you want to spend more then let me know. Get a 4G wire kit, 2farad cap, yellowtop optima, 12g speaker wire, and beer.

Be careful which DVC (Dual Voice Coil) Subs you get. If its a dual 4 ohm then you can do 1 at 2 ohm. If its 2 dual 4 ohm then you need to be running a 1 ohm stable amp to run them in parallel.
