its an easy test all you need is a headphone-rca cable. disconnect the rcas from the deck, connect the ipods rcas in and then turn on the key/deck and see if you get sound. It would also be a good idea to ensure that all the blue wires(blue and blue/white) on the deck side hrns have +12v on them while you run this test to ensure the amps should be getting the power they need

Is it gonna play music from the iPod to the speakers if there outputs though?

correct and if it does we know the amp/wiring is all good and the rca outs on the source/deck are bed. Just testing one thing at a time to check everything.
