I tried clear dipping the rims after I cleaned them up. Didn't like the way they turned out so i peeled it off :) So I'll just have to polish the rims everytime a clean it, no big deal!

I'll be doing a little mini photo shoot of the mazda, might sneak the mustang in? not sure, I've never had success with 2 cars in one pic...

I finished the rims and they look a million times better. Was very time intense though... spent a good week on them.

Also resurfaced my brakes and paint stuff up :) I fixed the rattle, looks like the previous owner put the pads in backwards...

So I'll wash it up once the wind dies down and post some new pics!

Next projects will be putting fog lights in. It should have fog lights, but for some reason doesn't. Suspect it had a small accident and they didn't want to pay for new ones.

also I'd like to tint the back windows!

Bought them at an import company. The must have been on a car they imported.

Winter Wheels Installation!

Put on my winter wheels today. I got hub centric rings and everything. Very nice smooth, quiet ride now :) No vibration or anything, summer rims likely needed a hub centric ring too.

I like the look of the winter wheels! They look tiny cause they're factory size, but oh well!

I've also decided the fate of this car... I'll likely be keeping it until May 2015 and then buying myself a new graduation gift :) Likely a truck.

I may also try selling it spring 2014 and see if I can get a profit from what I paid for it? I paid 4500 and put maybe $500 into it and winter wheels. In my area it looks like they are going for 5-7000 with similar KMs. This colour is also rare, but I dont think that'll make much difference. So I might try to sell it?

Enough talk, here's some pictures! (Cell phone pictures) Car is also filthy.
how long until we get a side-by-side shot with the pony?

Not gonna lie, I like stock sized(not your winter ones in particular) wheels the best. I think the summer wheels look a bit...wrong. I <3 sidewall though.

Yeah the 18s are a bit big. 17s would be best.
I like on the 18s the wheel is bigger than factory is it fills the wheel well.

The winter wheels don't fill as much.

So the mazda has been blowing a lot of dust and snow in the interior of the car...
Did some research and the mazda3s have a cabin airfilter, aaaand mazda didn't install a filter for the first couple years of production.
$38 later and 1-2 hours later is now a filter in.

I wonder if they could have put it in a worse location. I even found an easy way to do it, most people pull out the enormous glove box and nearly the whole passenger side dash. The way I did it was pull off the bottom panel, pull the fuse box off (really cool lever harnesses on these cars), pull off the bracket and then pull off the filter cover.

Man there was a rat nest of crap where the filter should be. Yuke!

also, dirty dirty mazda!
Damn nasty winter. Will give the mazda a bath soon even though it'll be cover again within minutes.

Not really sure what else to do to the car. Probably start painting and cleaning stuff, starting with the engine.
Don't want to dump a ton of money into it since I don't really plan on keeping it after school.

First I'm seeing this, nice little car mang. and holy shit @ Plastidip being $25 a can, it's $6 per can here. At $25 a can it's like not even worth it.

Thanks!
Yeah, $25 is not worth it. If I decide to ever use the product again in the future I'll definitely consider getting raped by shipping instead.

I was gonna say if you ever need someone to ship you some cans let me know. Looks like shipping along would be at least $20 though so you better buy a lot to make it worth it lol
