you need to use the Feather tool and "feather" the edges of the focused area

im not diggin the lens flare effect, but the car looks sick as always. as for the focus on them, id just duplicate the layer before you blur it out, and put a gaussian blur on the top layer, and just start using the eraser tool on a low opacity, and just keep running it around the picture, using the eraser more heavily in the area you want the most/perfect focus at. that way, it will give a nice transition from focus to out-of-focus. but, im sure you probably know this, but, id just make sure areas like the street right next to the car are in the same focus as the car, otherwise it will look a little odd.
