Lucky for you this is one of the easiest things to fix on a Mustang.

http://www.odometergears.com/ford.html

That is where I went when I had the same trouble. Read through everything and you will be fine. BTW there are roughly eleventy billion threads on this topic. Try doing a search next time first and check out what has already been posted. Good luck!

The point is, the guy doesn't need to be jumping on anybody when he is still a noob himself.
How many times has he answered this same question? Probably not many.
I'm not disagreeing that Twista should have used the search button.
Just that the comment should have been left to someone with more seniority.

i took his advice to be exactly what many of our moderators would say, except in a nicer tone.....

most of the "regulars" would have said "really? another one of these threads, use the search button, tard!"
(even i referenced another thread in my post)

but this guy not only gave a good source, insite that he has alraedy had trouble and would be a good contact to have if he runs into trouble, but also gave a friendly reminder that this forum is a wealth of information. followed with a friendly good luck wish.

i guess the comment could have been left to someone of more experience on the forum, but really now... lol... we cant always wait for a "veteran" to pop on to remind people about the search button....

plus, this guy did it nicely... i think if any of us (meaning veteran folk) were to remind him to use the search button, it would have been alot harder to swallow... . haha

Twista's been around for a while now.... he knows how to use the search button, im sure... reminding him once in a while wont hurt nothin' ;-) he's a big boy.

All true.
The comment didn't come across as nice and respectful to me.
Kinda like a quick jab in the gut, but not a full blown kick in the nuts if you get my meaning.

i agree... being on the interwebz, it can be difficult to determine people's tone. i give the benifit of the doubt whenever possible... in this case, he ended his statement with a "good luck." i find that to change the tone from "WTF are you posting this shiz again for n00b" to "hey, give it a search next time, enjoy working on your pimp a$$ B/W interior mustang"

The problem wasn't me NOT using the search button. If you guys (chris seen the original thread) I wasn't sure what any of the correct terms were. So how could i search, "stop" or "stuck" and get any helpful information.

Those words came back with no help. It wasn't after till Chris and the red cobra guy gave me the correct words for the parts that were broke.

And thanks for the replies.

Says the guy with 4000+ posts, who comes in and has nothing productive or positive to add to this thread. Way to lead by example you "SN95 Veteran," you sure seem to deserve that title!

I won't debate my seniority here. My low post count and relative short membership is clear; no need to point it out. We all know that basing someone's words on their post count is asinine. Do not treat me like an idiot. Also, if you had used the search function, you could've seen I have answered this TWICE in the short time I've been here.

You can't say there aren't a ton more of these threads.

Twista I do apologize, as I have re-read and now see you did not know the proper term(s) so a search was not going to help you. I did not intend my post to be a "jab" at you. I was simply trying to help you with your problem and aid you in any of your future queries.

Thanks Sergey and MustangChris for giving me the benefit of the doubt. I realize I could've let a "veteran" answer this, but I felt I was capable of doing so and then some.

i post garbage, so its taken me years (and numberous hand-jobs) to get where i am today....

i personally feel anyone is capable (post count regardless) on requesting the OP use the search button and/or request they not brind dead threads back to life. hahahaha
