Missing power....

I've been having a problem with my car for couple months... the problem is when I press on the gas, it take about one second before the engine react.. and start to accelerate.
I drove my van + friend?s car and it doesn?t do that... I wonder what can cause this problem... Do you guys have ideas?

did mine yesterday, feels like a new car! if you have a cold air, they're famous for picking up dirt on any type of dirt road so probably a good idea to clean out your filter while waiting for the maf to dry. Using a cuetip also helps to make sure you get all of the dirt off

I used alcohol and a q-tip Be gentle. You'll need a tamper-proof torx bit to remove the maf too.
Or you can get some maf spray or electronics spray cleaner and spray into the hole.

I used brake clean :dontknow: I think it works as long as its an evaporate? Carb clean, brake clean, maf cleaner. All same idea. If you dont have a tamper proof torx I heard you can use a small flat head screwdriver.

I didn't spray into the hole but it wouldn't hurt. If you spray in the hole make sure you give it time to dry

You shouldn't use carb cleaner, it leaves an oily residue.

Probably not the line itself, but perhaps your fuel filter (inline to the engine) may be needing replacing..
Cleaning the MAF, IAC, Changing the Spark Plugs, Wires, Cap and Rotor, and Fuel Filter is a good maintance method
I always use, and it hasn't failed me yet.

Your supposed to use MAF cleaner! It's next to the throttle body and carb cleaner! Brakekleen leaves a residue too! Well, how does it run now? Do you have a check engine light? +1 on the basic tune up including the fuel filter.

Nope, no check engine light or anything. Fixed my problem and actually runs better than ever to be honest. Not only did it fix my backfires when the car's cold but feels like just more power all around, spins second with ease, never did that before. dunno if it'll do it through 3rd, haven't driven anywhere with a fast enough speed limit ;] I just didn't have any MAF cleaner around the garage so my buddy who just did this to his said brake clean will work fine so I bite the bullet and went ahead with it. :dontknow:

GUYS IT'S AMAZING THE DIFFERENCE WOOOOOW RAN LIKE A CHARM!

Now my fucking car doesn't work now... I drove for like 2 hours... then decide to do a burn... WRONG thing to do.... I taught i was spining when smoke came out of the hood... i was like wtf.... then i was not able to start the car anymore... + when i was strying to start it ... it was not starting and it was smoking... )@!($)!_#(!)_%()@!)_!+ IM SO FREAKING PISSED
