So UPS dropped them off yesterday and I've been looking at the instrustions on their site for a week now. Everything seems pretty straight foward except for the part where the 4th hole needs to be drilled. I really dont understand the part where they say line up the old plate with the outer edge and inner edge of the slots. Is there a different way to measure the new hole location? Cant I measure the distances of the studs on the bottom plate in relation to the strut tower, mark where the new hole should be and drill? Or shoot even simpler put some paint on the top of the bottom plate studs, turn it over and voila, theres my drill mark. Just throwin ideas out there but let me know if you have any other ways of doing this or any other good write-ups. Thanks in advance

just take the old plates off, flip it around so 2 of the holes line up with the existing ones from one side, mark the circle of the remaining hole, flip it the other way, mark that circle, center punch and drill where those circles that you drew intersect.

Extremely easy, took me about 10 minutes to do the first side, then about 2 minutes to do the other side :)

Yea thats pretty much how the directions say to do it but for some reason I cant seem to visualize it and it confuses me to all hell. Oh well maybe it will just make more sense when I'm actually doing them.

be carful when installing the spacers. if you put too many on top of the plates, the strut WILL contact the underside of the hood.

MM directions give you the wrong amount of spacers.

Well I have sn-95 (not fox body) tokiko blues with ford c springs and no iso's, I'm guessing about 1.5 inch drop, how should I arrange the spacers then?

I'm running the recommended spacer arrangement from MM's instructions and I have no issues at all.

bilsteins, with H&R race 03/04 cobra springs, about a 1.5" drop or so.

I bet that it damn clost to hitting your hood.

I had them like that, then ended up switching them so the only spacer on top was 1 large one.

Nothing bottoms out, no binding, and they look 10x better now.

I'm perfectly happy with damn close, there's a huge void in the underside of the stock hood right where these go, the MM instructions wouldn't tell you to install them this way if they don't fit.

I'd rather not have reduced strut travel.

Well, i know MM says in the instructions to do them that way, but when i did, they hit my hood.
I had 2 big knicks where the strut contacted the hood, even though that big space is built into the hood.
That's why I did mine the other way around. No issues whatsoever. I notice a lot of people did them the way I did.

As long as it doesnt hit your hood, then you're good. lol Hey, i'm a poet and didn't know it!

yea I'll look out for that but switching around spacers doesnt bother me as much as drilling that extra hole. Wish there was a better write up with good pics rather than the one MM provides

part of that write-up is wrong, it says remove the ti-rod from the spindle, but that should be remove the swaybar endlink bolts, as you can see in the next picture below that the swaybar is off but the ti-rod is on, there's no need to remove the ti-rod to do the springs/struts/cc plates.

You know I was on AM's site looking for their directions because theirs are usually a little more explanatory, but when I clicked on them it just said MM's directions and I didn't even think to scroll down the page and look lol. Anyways, wow and thanks, that was exactly what I was looking for and it shows a great picture on how to scribe that hole. Thank you, thank you, thank you :notworthy:. You really came through Badass....even though you make fun of us over on Mustang world. :crybaby2:
