looking at rear LCA from MM. The adjustable ones.
I read they have spherical bearing bushings on the acle side.
Are the streetable? do they make lots of noise??

should I replace my UCA too?
car is a 97 and get lots of squeaks.
is it time to change them also?

They make a bit more noise than the stock or the poly bushed LCA's. They make even more if there are spherical bearings at both ends.

I found a J&M (I think thats right) LCA set @ LMPerformance.com you might look at. They have a 3 pc. bushing set at each end that consists of a hard center ball for good axle articulation. They are a newer design and look to be a quieter design. There is a patent pending on them right now. Last I checked they were on sale for $160 & free shipping. I'm seriously considering a set as my factory LCA's are starting to squeek.

I have MM LCA on my Car and they are AMAZING! You really need a spherical on the axle side because of the way the axle moves.

The MM LCAs improve handling ALOT. The rear of the car feels completely stable and controllable. One of the best upgrades i can recommend. The They do make the rear a little noisier but the benefits out way the little increase in noise

Handz, how much increase in noise are we talking about?
is it too much for a daily driver or barely noticeable?

I just saw this on the ford racing site.
http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=5923
looks like the kit has rear Relocation Brackets for the lca.
they allow you to adjust suspension geometry.
what do you guys think?

I havent seen any Relocation Brackets for LCA's for our cars only for 2005+.
heres the ones steeda makes:

The relocation brackets are mainly for drag oriented car's that need to change the instant center.

The MM CA's don't make any noise at all, that you can tell really, you are still isolated on the chassis side. If you are really interested in getting rid of squeeks and rattles, staret with MM XL subframe connectors.

Yea. I've already done the frame connector thing. Works wonders. The squeek I'm getting is from the chassis mount of the

right rear lower control arm. Have disassembled the arm looking for corrosion in the joint. None to be seen. Cleaned the arm joints and

replaced both mounting bolts on that arm and reinstalled it. Still squeeks. When I place my hand on that joint and someone jounces the

rear of the car, you can really feel it as well as hear it. So it's in that joint without a doubt. Must be something between the arm itself

and the pressed-in rubber bushing somehow. Left side makes no sound. Really odd.

So, replacements will be purchased soon. Still deciding on which ones and how much.

I've decided to get MM lca.
even tho they have spherical bushings on the axel side.
From what i have read they make no noise.
come to think of it I have MM camber caster plates
whch have spherical bearings and I get zero noise in front.

GDTrumbo, you have stock LCA's right?

OH yes! Sorry. They are in fact the factory pieces.

I'm looking at the J&M Street LCA's w/ new 3pc. poly ball bushing design. $160 with free ship from LMPerformance.

Are these any good?? Don't want too harsh a ride. Any info is appreciated! GT

SRT Handz you have adjustable LCA's right?
did you adjust them or leave them at stock height?
if you adjust them do you have to adjust the pinion angle also?

Adjusting the Spring Perch height does not effect pinion angle.

You are right sir. But there is no reason for others to "wear it out". I have the MM Panhard Rod kit installed on my car. (which I
installed over a 11hr. period myself and it works wonderfully, but transfers some axle noise) So me, like many, know the value of good
parts. I've been working with cars since 1974 and I have found over the years that some parts are overpriced for the sake of a name.

These MM parts are awsome for racing and serious streeters but at the same time are known to be noisy. I've read it over and
over in many forums. Many have removed them because of it. I may buy them yet, I don't know.

Do the MM LCA's accentuate the rear end gear "slop" as many say?

After repeated hard launches, do the MM's cause expensive or unrepairabe torque box damage just because they are so strong?

Is it a very good idea to buy a torque box reinforcement kit when using the MM's? Probably.

Or are they really kinda "overkill" for a daily driven street car? Maybe.

I'm sure are all good questions ...........

I don't thrash this car like my old 400+ hp '69 Plymouth Road Runner (no remote comparison to late Mustangs), So my question
still is: Are the MM LCA's really necessary for my car? My driving style?

It's not like I'm looking at a set of Granatelli LCA's. ($120) I've read many negative comments on those including: "The welds just
seem to have come apart".

I'm probably going to order something today, as I'm tired of listening to the creaking from the worn (149K mi.) factory arm bushings.
So talk to me. Do you think the J&M's 3 pc. spherical bushing setup even rank as a tier 2 part or are they just in a word "shit".

GT

Oh, By the way. Ordered the MM LCA's. Soon I'll just buy stock in Maximum Motorsports Inc.

that's a good post right there.

but some are overpriced just because of the name (steeda)

but MM is overpriced because they truly are a great product. my buddy had lca's on his car and he was rearended from the back. it broke the upper control arms and bent his whole entire rearend . in the mangle wreck they use to call a rearend they pulled the lca's out and they looked damn near perfect just a few scratches from stuff going into it. but they were still straight
