heres goes, 94 vert 95 cobra heads and rockers, 98 explorer upper and lower intake. stock bottom end and cam, and stock injectors

i need to rid the smog junk and i want the egr gone so i can use a set of fox headers. and i want to extract the most power out of it as it sits with the longblock i have now
should i change injectors ? how do i do this where the computer isnt freaking out? i know i need to "have it tuned" but there is no one around here and id like to do as
much tweakin as i can until the last possible second.

you can get a mass air flow meter calibrated for different injectors, just plug and play kinda thing. of course, a dyno tune would be best but that works just as well.

Calibrated MAF, and injectors are nice. Also 5.0s can get "hand-tuned" with a fuel pressure regulator and a timing adjustment. Still, 95s have problems because the computer is different to the fox computer.

It is a BETTER ECU(2x faster than foxes), BUT it doesn't like that many manual adjustments. Also the main problem is that SN95's were require to be more environment firendly. That is the MAIN reason why they have some problems adapting to aftermarket stuff.

With a dyno tune you can get better results with a SN95 ECU than a fox ECU.

Hand-tuning, fox ECUs are king.

Removing any of the smog provisions will not give you 1 more HP.

Why not just buy SN95 headers?
