I'm looking to buy an intake that'll work well with an Ecam and my ported E7 heads. I don't plan on updating the heads ever, as I will be buying a complete [MAS to oil pan] engine from a friend later on. I do, however, want to get the most fun out of what I already have. I was considering an Explorer intake, to keep costs down, but I wanna see what you guys think first.

The Cobra is pretty hard to beat [performance versus cash spent] having seen and read quite a bit into this particular intake.

Try to find a used Cobra or Exploder intake. also, Professional Products arent that expensive either, and they make great power!

If the money is available you could always buy a higher end intake such as edelbrock or holley and sell it when you buy the complete motor. Prior to buying my Systemax intake I browsed Ebay over and over for one and they were always selling for just under retail. Basically you could get what you want and sell it when the time comes for little loss.

I bought an explorer intake from a friend. Now my next move will be throttle body, 24 lb injectors and the required MAS upgrade.

Cobra, but if you keep your eyes open you can find something better.

There is a guy in the local forums selling an used RPM2 for $260 with elbow.
