Motor mount help please

ok, well I'm going to be pulling the engine outta my car here soon, seeing its a little on the old side and making all sorts of god awful noise. I got and explorer 5.0 block ready to go in that i'll just put the gt40 heads, intake and cam from my car on. But anywho, I'd like to get some opinions from you guys on motor mounts. Solid or poly-eurthane? Any help is appreciated, thanks guys!

I went with Energy polys in mine... dont know how it is just yet. But they are pretty nice....

poly's work well. have them in all of my cars-motor doesn't move as much and not that bad on transmitting vibrations. make sure and use the tranny mount to help the most.

What motor mounts to run will depend on what your car is going to be used for. Solid mounts are going to rattle everything, unless you're going to have a dedicated track car I wouldn't recommend them. If it's a daily driver I'd go with Poly mounts which will have a bit more vibration than stock but won't let the engine twist as much as the stock mounts. If its a mostly stock car I'd go with a set of stock replacements. Whatever you choose make sure your engine and tranny mounts are matched up, stock with stock, poly with poly.

yea don't put solid mounts in it if u drive it more than on weekend at the drag strip . i had solid mounts in a car i drove every day for about a month and the went in the trash .

I have solid mounts and honestly they don't seem that bad. But my car is also gutted so I'm sure the small small small amount of vibrations I have would be amplified with plastic panels shaking around.

Yeah I've been leaning toward the poly mounts. My car is a daily and everynow and then I'll take it to the drag strip. My car just rolled to 199,xxx miles the other day i think the mounts in there now are still original. I have a TFS stage 1 cam and when the engines running and the hood is popped u can see the engine is shaking all kinds of back and forth. I'd like it to be a little more secure to the body and shake the whole car, not just the engine. I will also replace the tranny mount at the same time.
