I’ve had my engine out for a couple months now and on install I notice my 4 mount studs that go to the block look like these in the image. I also have 4 nuts that thread onto those studs. What’s confusing is if I put the studs on before the mount, that nut sits between the mount and the block. If I put the studs through the mount, I don’t know what the purpose of the 4 nuts are. I swear I took them off with these studs, as I had them marked as motor mount nuts.

Car is a 95 GT.

I don't remember exactly but aren't a couple of those used to hold something like a J-hanger for the starter cable, or maybe one of the brackets for the secondary air thermactor system, etc? I don't think all of the studs do that but one or two might.

My car isn't stock anymore so the only thing I know is on one of those studs (on mine) is a big aux ground to chassis cable.

Motor mount bracket first then the stud
The nuts are for securing wire looms and othe wire loom brackets to the block
Starter wire looms ect.

I separated the brackets and forgot I had them. All figured out now.

Having trouble getting the new dip stick tube into the block now. With a light I can see a little bit of gasket over hang in the hole but I would’ve expected this to punch right through that.

If you got an aftermarket dipstick tube made to fit 83-93 mustang 302 blocks it won't fit in a 94/95 because ford are a-holes for making the hole smaller for absolutely no reason and the aftermarket are a-holes for not making any dipstick tube which will fit in there and also not interfere with the spark plugs.

I bought an oil pan kit from LMR that came with one. But I’m willing to believe that might be the problem.

It was the headers. Couldn’t get the tube straight into the hole I guess. Surprised at how off it really was.
