I replaced mine with the stock ones again and it was ultra smooth but then they ripped in like a week somehow so i had to replace them again and that time i bought Prothane mounts and they have held up great and its still a pretty smooth ride a little more feel to it but nothin bad.

i installed a heavy duty style motor mount, convertible style they might call it. They are stock rubber mounts but stronger.

I would just do stock ones. poly ones are to expencive
please tell me your joking???

its a small price to pay knowing your not ripping your drivetrain apart... if you are willing to put any money into the drivetrain it needs to have a solid foundation to begin with... why do you think subframe connectors are so popular?? sure you may have XXX amount of power but whats the point if on a hard launch your waisting XX amount on drivetrain torsional loads, thats a pure loss of torque because instead of moving the car you're now trying to move the engine on the mounts instead, you would be highly surprised in the difference just engine and trans mounts can make

example, in my old gt killer FWD malibu (yeah, you heard me) i used to get crazy wheel hop until i made a set of poly trans mounts, i just couldn't put the power down.... after swapping in the mounts i had a new issue!! the tires couldn't hold all the power and it acted like a totally different and much more powerful car, much more direct and the feedback was amazing! its just an example of what a couple mounts can do... and yes, it is a FWD application compared to RWD so the differences will be there but it should still give you a lot better feedback and feel

i plan on replacing the mounts ASAP :thumb:

I have solid on one of my cars. I would ditch them in a heartbeat if I could fit my motor under the hood.

I'd go with stockers.

Paul.

because everyone in the world has the power to break them. I doubt but 10% on the board have that kind of power

its not about breakage here, its about the amount of movement.... either way poly's will last longer than rubber mounts (if thats all you're worried about which i doubt the thread starter was) unless the rubber is a higher durometer reading (harder) than the poly... and i highly doubt that unless you're using complete crap mounts, even then....

My stock mounts gave out to the point that my passenger header was touching the k member. Then i replaced them with stockers again which rode really nice for about a week and the passenger side started breaking again so i said screw it for 30 more bucks i bought prothane poly mounts and have been happy ever since.

I've got polys in my car and when I went to them I couldn't tell the difference in feel and I've got a pretty healthy cam. :dunno:

I say go poly. No reason to go stock.
