How involved is an interior swap


I just got a 1998 mustang gt
it has cloth interior
the drivers side seat is power, the passenger is not

id really like some stock leather seats

i was wondering if 99-04 is a direct swap into a 98

if anyone has a write up or could point me in the right direction that would be awesome thanks

there are many write ups on this on this site. its nearly a direct swap,

ya it should be basically a direct swap the only things you might need to change are the seat belt clickers and the plug for the power seat.

I replaced my 98 GTs cloth interior from a 2k1 Cobra (leather) and was a direct swap with the exception that I had to splice in connection for the lumbar, which my stock drivers power seat didn't come with. More support, more firm cushions and looks good too (IMO).

I put the 2k1 seats in my stang too but I had to swap the seat belt clickers because the 95 belts wouldn't click into them.

I just put 03 Cobra door panels in my 96..99.9% direct swap..

The dash and all that will fit right in, only thing is the 99-04 cluster is electronic where as 96-98 isn't. You can wire it up in there though.
