My immediate guess would be a lack of fuel. But there are way too many unknowns of what is going on. First of all, what do you have for H/C/I? I'd assume you have exhaust, but what else do you have for mods?

Damn.

Something is definitley wrong. I ran a 14.9 when the car was completely stock other than full exhaust.

Well obviously something is fd or else i wouldnt of posted but thanks for the drving tips tony stewart....

For it hitting the wall when i have it to the floor in 3rd and 4th it starts to seem that it sputters. the rpm's have a hard time going over 4000. Mods are GT40p Heads, Edlebrock Intake, small cam, full o/r exhaust, 5.0 shifter, and thats basicly it. As for the lack of fuel it def cant be that because my car smells like its running to rich.

As for the trash tlkn im new to this so if u cant answer my question or help me then let it ride

to question your driving skill is in no way talking trash.

normally a poorly worded "why's my car so slow" thread comes up skill is the first thing that comes to mind......don't forget, we don't know you so don't take it personal.

With what you're running, the stock injectors could be being pushed to the max. But it def could be a timing/spark issue. Do you have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator? Try turning the FP up a bit if you haven't done so.

No i do not have an adjustable fuel reg. my mods were listed in my second post. i will be changing the spark plugs and wires tomorrow to see if that will help.

When I ran my car at the strip, it had a constantly rough and "jumpy" acceleration, meaning it just accelerated choppy and with just my stock engine and 3.73s, it ran 16.1. After that I A) replaced the MAF(That made a HUGE difference, smooth accelleration) and B) Re-did exhaust and took off the factory cats with a new o/r H pipe. Both helped a bunch, but the MAF smoothed everything else. I would check your MAF first, My car was sputtering in 4th in the 1/4 mile and was having issues accellerating past 130kph in 4th...

clean up the maf and iac but you might want to upgrade fuel injectors and maf sensor to match. i had a problem a while ago, my car would hit a wall at 3500 rpms in every gear it turned out my maf was shot

Sounds like you don't know what your doing. In either mechanics or driving. If you didn't check the timing right away then I suggest having someone look at it.

well thanks for the reality check that im no mechanic or professional driver. as i said if the new plugs don't work i will be checking the timing. I will def look into changing out my maf because that seems to be what everyone says was the problem and it got fixed.

Not trying to sound like a dick, but I know I do. It's plain and simple. The three rules are to check:

1) fuel
2) spark
3) timing

Go from there. Until we know what situation your fuel and spark as well as timing sits at, theres little we can do.

Sounds kinda like when my MSD box went bad. It was breaking up through the entire rpm band then would hit a wall at 4200 rpm and wouldn't go any higher.

I'd check for spark, fuel, and clean your sensors cause you should run way faster then that. With a very mild street H/C/I setup and bolt-on's and 3:73:1 gears I'm running high 12's/low 13's in the 1/4 (depending on my 60 foot, I really need stickier tires though. 1st gear is a joke).

The asshole tude wont help you out here. If your first post you put "what other performance mods can i get to get into 13" this makes it sound like your just trying to throw money around to fix the problem. This is why i said fix the prob before you worry about the performance parts.

How old are the plugs? how old are the wires? why not check them first instead of maybe wasting money replacing them? I think you should check your timing first since its free aslong as you have a light. If you dont have a light i would highly advise in getting one. Another handy object is a fuel pressure guage to stick on your rail. I would try cleaning your MAF before replacing it. Its an expensive part.

I got it running alot better i got a new maf from the junk yard and new plugs and wires it seemed to be the maf that made the biggest difference. But yeah i think my car should def be in the 13s i just dont launch it from the line i have no suspension mods or tires so thats the biggest problem i also gotta put in the 3.73s that i got laying around.
