Found this bad boy on craigslist, the guy was asking $975. The ad stated he just had a shop replace the heads & gaskets, but he thought that it blew another head gasket because it was running rough and smoking out the tailpipe. I called and said look, I got $600 bucks and can be there first thing in the morning, he said he'd do $750, we ended up meeting in the middle at $675.

My cousin bailed on me so had to drive up and get the car myself. Wasn't sure how the old blazer would pull it, but it did great.

I got it out to the shop and started checking it out. Let it run for about 30 seconds and shut it off, number two exhaust port was the only one NOT warm... Pulled the plug and it was gas fouled. Took about 5 minutes to figure out the computer wasn't pulsing the injector, it was keeping it on all the time... Bought a used computer off the local mustang board for 40 bucks, swapped out the plug, and changed the oil... and she ran great!

The car ran great and got good gas mileage, but I just hated the stock 6er wheels... so I found some bullitt wheels with newer tires (tires at about 90 %) for $375.

And thats where I'm at now.

Future plans:
clay bar/buff treatment
96-98 taillights
tinted windows
stereo upgrade (has a decent jvc deck now) I'm going to upgrade to some decent coaxials and a single 10" RE SRI and about 300 watts.

4.2 split port swap
8.8" with 3:73's
o/r h-pipe - stock gt catback?

Keep it my daily driver as it gets decent gas mileage...

I'm just picking up parts as I find good deals, so progress might be a bit slow... though I intend to get the windows tinted and the stereo done sooner than later, but it's hard because I work 6 days a week, up to 72 hours a week...

when you get around to it, I may sell my stock H pipe, just did a pi swap, and went to an X pipe.

otherwise, subscribed. not much for 6'rs, but this looks promising.

Tossed on some 96-98 taillights. Painted the bezels and tinted the lenses. The paint wasn't a good match, so I decided to change them to this.

Not really digging the black. Theres a guy parting a 96-98 laser red stang, trying to get the taillights off it...

Traded my uncle my stock v6 wheels for a 8.8" with 3:73's. It was out of a fox, so I'll have to swap over my axles, brakes, and???? but I'm extremely happy with the deal.

Going to wait to do the swap until I find some lowering springs and a aerostar alum. driveshaft!

Ut Oh, what's that? Well it's a 2000 f150 4.2 complete from oil pan to tb, with all the accessories of course.
Not bad for $70 dollars - oh, and he's throwing in an engine stand!
The motor is said to run good, but it had high miles. Gonna tear it down and rebuild it (new rings, bearings, gaskets, etc.

Nice! Machine work is going to be one of your biggest expenses here, but it's worth it.

Now I won't be the only 4.2 guy on here ;p

Sweet deal on a 4.2L!!! What upper intake are you thinking of using? The 4.2L or the Mustang's 3.8L split port upper?

Not sure which intake I'm going to use, but it won't be the stock single port one (probably either the f150, windstar.)

I'm hoping to keep the machine work to a minimum. Hoping to just hone the cylinders, polish the crank, new bearings, new rings, etc.

Really hoping it doesn't need bored, but I won't know until I get it tore down... If it does, it won't be that big of a deal..
