Found this bad boy on craigslist, the guy was asking $975. The ad stated he just had a shop replace the heads & gaskets, but he thought that it blew another head gasket because it was running rough and smoking out the tailpipe. I called and said look, I got $600 bucks and can be there first thing in the morning, he said he'd do $750, we ended up meeting in the middle at $675.
My cousin bailed on me so had to drive up and get the car myself. Wasn't sure how the old blazer would pull it, but it did great.
I got it out to the shop and started checking it out. Let it run for about 30 seconds and shut it off, number two exhaust port was the only one NOT warm... Pulled the plug and it was gas fouled. Took about 5 minutes to figure out the computer wasn't pulsing the injector, it was keeping it on all the time... Bought a used computer off the local mustang board for 40 bucks, swapped out the plug, and changed the oil... and she ran great!
The car ran great and got good gas mileage, but I just hated the stock 6er wheels... so I found some bullitt wheels with newer tires (tires at about 90 %) for $375.
And thats where I'm at now.
Future plans:
clay bar/buff treatment
96-98 taillights
tinted windows
stereo upgrade (has a decent jvc deck now) I'm going to upgrade to some decent coaxials and a single 10" RE SRI and about 300 watts.
4.2 split port swap
8.8" with 3:73's
o/r h-pipe - stock gt catback?
Keep it my daily driver as it gets decent gas mileage...
