just go somewhere and get a stock clutch installed

....i payed $430 for my clutch INSTALLED

$430!

Thats a motor out of an 87-92 GT! WOW!

clutch instal is just easier to have someone do because when they do the clutch they can change the clutch cable and Rear Main Seal at the same time

Why in the world would they change the cable? Or the real seal? Theres no reason to do that unless it needs to be done ???

well your supposed to change the cable when do a clutch change...and most shops recommend you change the rear main seal while the tranny is off and it is able to be accessed

Well, if you have the money to spend, then fine... thats really your call if you want to pay to get the clutch changed...

I've changed several clutches in several different vehicles... only 2 needed real seals, the rest didn't and are still working just fine...

Its really a simple fix... Like I said, learning is doing... I wouldn't tell anyone to try something that I didn't think they could handle... I wouldn't tell you to do a cam swap in on your own...

bud... go to napa, buy a clucth...

Its an easy fix... here a walk through...

1. get the car a foot or so off the ground.
2. disconnect driveshaft from rear using a 12 point socket
3. disconnect the shifter assembly
4. disconnect the O2 sensors, the smog pump line thing, and pull off the mid pipe
5. remove speedo cable
6. disconnect 4 bolts connecting the tranny to the bellhousing
7. disconnect 2 bolts holding tranny to the cross member
8. place jack under rear of tranny, disconnect the 2 bolts on each side of the cross member that hold it to the car
9. take out cross member
10. fun part, tranny isn't very heavy... have friend pull out jack, while you hold tranny, pull the tranny back (to remove input shaft). Now its off. good job!

11. remove clutch cable cover with 10mm socket, then disconnect cable
12. remove bellhousing, several bolts, you will need a few universal joints.
13. remove pressure plate from fly wheel, and the clutch should come too...

Now check the flywheel, make sure it aint fist fucked... and put it all back together using the tool that came with the new clutch...

This will take you anywhere from 5 to 7 hours so long as everything goes ok, you have all the tools, and parts you need...

People that have done this before and have cool air tools, can get it done in as little as 2 to 3 hours...

Its very easy... you can do it...

Learning, is doing...

I second all that, EXCEPT remove the clutch cable from the tranny BEFORE you yank it out. as far as everything else...
the driveshaft bolts are 12mm 12 points, and the bolts holding the tranny to the engine are 5/8", the bolts holding the tranny crossbrace in are 1/2". make sure and stick a bucket under the tailhouse, cause it's going to leak like crazy! also, to fill it back up, i found the easiest way is once it's back in and bolted, poor the fluid in through the shifter housing, with the drain plug removed, once the fluid comes out the drain plug. it's full. bone empty, it's 2.8 QTs. so it won't be that much if you replace the clutch yourself. as the tranny will still havbe some fluid in it.

I replaced the rear main seal while i was there, because i needed it, and i was already there. I also had the flywheel machined. it cost me $32 to machine it. cheaper than buying an all new one.

I'm with you. There are people out there who do this stuff for a living. And they usually have guarantees. Let them do what they do best.

That sounds like the throw out bearing for sure. Go buy a mustang repair manual it has step by steps with pictures. if you take your time you would not have any problems doing this job your self. Trust Me
