How much shorter is the Fox strut? What's shorter shorter part, the rod or the body?

OP droppped the car by what looks like at least 3 inches over stock, and he said he wants to go lower. Are you sure that fox style strut will take care of it? To me does not seem that way.

Also, I never said that fox stuff was race car stuff. I've said that suspension geomtry is different enough to be super lower, and still work, you would not be running off the shelf stuff at this point, but rather custom valved and shortened shocks.

i would love to do air ride but a supercharged and big brakes will come before that, so right now i'm trying to get the ride height i like without spending too much more money.

i comp engineering 3 way adjustable shocks in the back. it says they are for 79-04. i dont really like them so far, they are kinda harsh, and a PITA to adjust with coil overs. probably going to swap those out soon too.

My rear Konis are a breeze to adjust. All I gotta do is pop the trunk and turn a knob. I've cut out a special opening in the carpet.

Im not positive on this, i still need to check out the KYB catalog i have at work to double check but i beleive the rod and body are the same length its just the mounting point thats different. instead of being an the very bottom of the strut body like SN struts. the fox struts mounting stuff is and an inch up form the bottom of the body of the strut. therefore it has more travel on way lowered SN's

well, i have coilovers on stock struts in the front. when i hit a big bump or dip in the road i hear a pretty loud bang, almost like the car is bottoming out, but its not. i looked at everything under the car and nothing is hitting the ground, and the tires are not hitting anything either.

is my strut bottoming out? or is my control arm hitting my k frame?

has anyone else with a very low car having this problem? should i just put some quality struts on?
That noise is your common sense scraping the ground. Just take the springs out all the way around, it might be low enough for you then, lol.
