My car vs 96? SS

So when on a cruise the other day and some punk in his black SS thought it was fun to pick on mustangs. I talked to him, had a LT motor in it cold air shift kit exhaust. I consistently put cars on him quick from both dig and 2nd and 3rd gear pulls. Is this expected? I thought they were quick.

Maybe not the LT1's however, the LS1's are a different story. Good kill though, sounds like a typical Camaro owner.

Yea LT1s are slow. Plus you have a PI engine with 4:10s. You might hang with a newer 02 SS. I'm pretty sure my nPI car can't hang.

LT1's are slow?
news to me. My bone stock 93 went 14.5's all day long. w/ cold air kit, chip and throttle body it went 13.9x's on bald 18" tires. it usually takes a cam swap to get them in the 12's but headers and a vigi converter put me at 13.2xs.
its no LS1 but a well sorted one will surprise you.

stock and lightly modded lt1's are pretty slow. but they get pretty quick with some lt's and a nice stall converter. My buddy's gained about a couple tenths from longtubes and exhaust and another couple tenths from rebuilt tranny and stall he's running a 13.4 right now on everything else stock.

GOOD KILL I RACED A 02 OR 03 CAMERO AND IT RAN STRONG HE WAS THE REASON I ORDERED ALL MY STUFF FROM FOX LAKE NOW HE DOES NOT WANT TO RACE THEY LOVE BEATING STOCK STANGS BUT IF THEY HEAR THE LEAST BIT OF MOD THEY GET SCARED I WOULD BE HAPPY TO RACE YOUR CAMERO AND I WILL EVEN TAKE MY SC OFF IF YORS IS NA

thats pretty cool.
ive had ss's just about rip my doors off when i would ride around in my friends little import cars.

some guy at my church has one too thats pretty nasty sounding, idk how quick it is though.

Yeah, you gotta watch out for those '03 camAros they are super fast.

If you're talking to me about racing my Z i'm down to go run what you brung. Its just a little 302 w/ a 4spd. Pay no attention to the 2nd carb...I'm always down to run something, I've even got a heavy barge of a mopar i'll line up.
