I will never buy the projector lights, so how can I get HID's to work right with my Smoked lights? I love the look of these on my car! I only have lights just in case I am driving & it starts to get dark. I never drive when it is already getting dark. I am now blind as a bat @ night!

I think my 1st set, the LH side only, worked pretty good. It went from dim to high correctly.

just sounds like you wired it in reverse, find out which wires are for your lows and which one is for hi and switch the connections

u do have some wires crossed. my hids are fine WITHOUT projectors.

I've heard the same thing before too. All you need to do is swap wires

you can always retrofit a single projector lens designed for bi-xenon HID's inside your smoked housings. without a projector, you will never get the correct light output from a HID/metal halide bulb. which means, you will always have that "scatter" look to your headlight beams. if your biggest worry is about the beams being reversed, if you can get the bulbs any farther into the sockets, it may help. i know when i first installed mine, i put the plastic ring on the bulb backwards, which made the bulbs not sit in the housings far enough, which due to the headlight design, ended up crossing the beams, making the highs appear as low and lows appear as high's.

I've heard the same thing before too. All you need to do is swap wires

um, how are you going to do that when the entire harness is prewired into all the sockets and connectors? you could cut them and swap the wires, but its not like everything comes apart and you can make the mistake of rewiring them wrong. its not the wiring. its a matter of a combination of how you mount the bulbs to the housings, and using the wrong housings with the wrong bulbs.

ARdoller I respect your input but you really need to chill man. It's hard to tell the exact problem the OP is having but when I first installed my HIDs i had my high/low wires crossed; when I hit the high beams the beam got lower. After switching the wires they work perfectly, stand in front of the car and the beam goes up when you hit the brights.

The reason you can switch the wires is because you have to wire in a special harness that tells the HIDs when you turn on the high beams, it's not built into the kit because every car is different.

Sorry, when I read that it kinda makes sense. I just got a lot of info from my friend that is visiting from New Zealand! I'm going to reread this tomorrow.

As far as that gap in my f'ing hood, that was done my that body shop that fixed up my car! Been fixing real probs with my car. Once, & if it ever starts running right, I'll have my guy fix that. Remember my crooked & spaced out lights? Same deal. My guy put these new ones in perfectly!

You have bi-xenons right? Make sure your high/lows are working as they should, then make sure your headlights are aimed correctly. Chances are if you installed new headlights their aim is way off, which will always result in poor lighting.

Huh, I can't even think inside the box, you expect me to think outside now? Back to non-bitching; I talked to the guy that put them in. I didn't print this off & take to him. All I could remember is switching the wires so it'd change my dim & brights up. He said they can't be just switched. Something about they only hook up 1 way. Maybe like the shape of the female has to match up to the male?

All I know is I will have the smoked lights from Art's hopefully forever. They look too good on my car to remove, I think.

My point was you talking about how HIDs supposedly suck in halogen housings has absolutely nothing to do with the problems the OP posted asking about. You're so worried about your whole HIDs should be in a projector speech that from what i read you didn't help at all. carry on.
