Well, I brought my car back to my local tuner because the cel kicked on, and it was just due to my IAT, so we got that all fixed. He wanted me to take him for a ride with his laptop hooked up just to see the readings he would get. Everything seems great. The first thing he was talking to me about was how loose my converter was. First off, the converter is a BC Auto 3500 stall. Now, considering I'm breaking this motor in I cant get on it hard, but I would have the throttle down about 1/4-1/2 way and the car was flashing to 3k already....he said just from his experience the converter first off is wayyy too large for a street car and its loose as well. He recommended going with a 2600-2800 stall, keeping my 4.10 gears. He wants to take my stall out and just sent it to one of his companies and have them tighten it. The price is really cheap, but before I pulled the trigger just wanted to see if guys running a centri setup w/ 4.10s and a stall if this range of 2600-2800 sounded about in line for a street car.

Plus, The car sounds like its going 90mph when Its going 30mph and he said my stall now will absolutely kill my numbers

Just looking for some feedback.

thanks

I know he runs 3.73's with a 26" tire, and I want to say the same size stall as me

Ohh gotcha maybe check over on svtp also. Lot of blown big hp gts on there also, I'm sure there's a few stalled cars.

A 3500 stall seems steep to me for a street car, 25-2800 is a better upgrade for a street application to me.

yeah, that was his whole reasoning. He said if this was a track car to just keep what I had, but for a street car to step it down. I just keep getting mixed answers so its tough, I emailed Alan at dirty dog and played dumb seeing what he would recommend for my setup and he said a 3500-3800. Just spinning in circles now

did you tell him its a street car? i think 3500-3800 is a bit much but not outrageous. i think you could go either way but if it was me, i'd go lower.

yeah I did tell alan its a street car, but I'm going to give Darrin a call in a bit and talk to him about it. The main thing with this car is when pulling out of the driveway it sounds like its going 90 mph and screaming, when it doesnt need to be. I also dont want this converter to kill me on the dyno and would like to push some decent numbers. I'll let ya know what Darrin says

I talked to Darrin and he basically said my tuner doesnt know what hes talking about lol
My stall is probably dead on, if not maybe I should go higher
So from a professional who specializes in that area, I'm thinking I should take his advice
