Like many people I debated if going 4.10's would be a mistake. My car is a 96 GT 5 speed with OEM 3.08 rear. I had done 3.73 in my fox body years ago and always wished I had gone with 4.10's so this time I just went for it. All I can say is that everyone who said "don't fear the gear" was right.

Around town the car drives "normal" and 75MPH on the highway is only 2.5K rpm so while it is in the drone range of the Magnapacks it is hardly running out of gear. The best part is when you give it full throttle in 1st and 2nd gear, the car just takes off. Huge smile ear to ear every time.

Interesting I just had 4.10s put in also and im at like 2750 on the highway at 75mph. You sure your speedo is accurate lol? I found out my was off by like 12 MPH at highway speeds even with the largest 23 tooth speedo gear. check your actually speed with a gps or something and see if its correct. My speedo says im going 75mph at 2500 rpm but im only really going like 63 haha.

good point about the tires, i have 275 17s so maybe that affects mine a little higher also, but unless you electronically fix your speedo with a speed cal its never gonna be exactly correct with 4.10s since there is no tooth gear to perfectly correct for them, I suggest anyone check there actual speed with a gps if you have 4.10s and have not done so. This only applies for the cars that have the tooth driven speedo gear versus electronic of course which can be corrected in a tune.

Glad you like them but its more than likely that either your speedo or tach is off a little. I can see it being decent in a bolt on car but once you start making a good amount of power I think it would be way overkill.

Yea, have to get the proper gear in place. I suffered for 4 years with 4.10s and a 3200 stall, reverse valved C4. 3000rpm at 60mph, no overdrive ftl. Car was pretty nuts though, in my old age I doubt it would be bearable anymore.

LMAO same thing happened to me which mad realize it in the first place lol. Going 80 on the parkway and not passing a single person seemed strange. I was told the 23 tooth gear would be the closest I was going to get to the correct speed however its nowhere close to actually speed im going lol and its the highest tooth gear they make. I was told 3.55s is the highest you can go to actually have a correct speedometer if your just using the gear.

GPS verified, adjusted the speed-dial so it's within 2 MPH

Anything forced induction will obviously not want to use such a high gear on the street, any idiot knows that

Yeah I def need to get one of those speed dials when i get around to it. Where did you ground the wires to and also where did you connect the wire that gives it power only when the car is on?
