Here's my basic story.
I have my '98 V-6 auto Mustang that has 205,000 miles on the clock, but runs close to perfect. Body is 8/10, with only a few dents here and there and slightly faded E9 paint. Interior is about 9/10, black on black. The only flaw being an odd "ripple" in the plastic on the dash just below the passenger side airbag.
I also now have a '94 V-6 5-speed Mustang with 80,000 miles that has been smacked in the front end and needs the whole front clip and core support replaced. Car has sat for a while, so a lot of other items will need looked at too, such as three of the four brake calipers.
My original option when I got my '98 last year was to pull the 3.8 and put a 5.0 in it. I have a 5.0 H.O. from a '91 Lincoln LSC sitting in my garage just waiting to go into something. Had planned on retaining it as an automatic, seeing as how it's fairly hard to find donor cars for manual transmissions these days. Then, I wound up coming across an amazing deal on the '94 that I couldn't pass up.
The '94 is a completely base model car. 3.8L, 5-speed, and a really hideous light metallic purple... Manual windows/locks, steel wheels with the Mustang hubcaps (I've never seen this on an SN-95 before). Interior is close to perfect, aside from the airbags being popped, and is grey on black. It would make a great pavement pounder if built properly and had the damage repaired to the front.
Space is limited, and I really don't need (and kind of can't afford) two Mustangs AND my pickup. So my main issue is, I can't really decide on what I want to do. I personally lean more towards just putting the 5-speed in my '98 and leaving it a six for the fuel mileage (it gets close to 30 highway now, and I drive it 80 miles a day), keeping the 3.8 out of the '94 as a spare engine, selling off the rest of the '94 to someone for a project or something, and keeping the 5.0 for something later.
I would like to hear some feedback from you guys on this. Might help me decide what to do.
