Is giggle gas hard to install?

now before this turns into a flame thread... i will only run it for a short time (2 years, race track only) on a motor that I DONT CARE ABOUT while i build my teskid....

please go argue somewhere else about whats good/bad for cars and how turbos are God's gift to horsepower..... .. . ... Im asking about N2O for cheep, fast, easy HP for the track only. I know its hard on a motor... i know its a limited supply of power... blah blah blah. i dont care about the motor im juicing, so... no worries...

why im asking is because i dont want my car catching on fire... lol.. or... stuff like that...

wet shot? or dry shot? 75 shot? 100 shot? professionally installed? or me install?

It's not hard to install.

It's not hard on motors when used properly.

There's nothing bad about it. You can use it on the street. (Lord knows I have)

100 shot wet kit to start. Compucar, NX, NOS, and many others make great entry-level kits.

You can install it yourself.

Moving to the power adder section...

+1
but you can also look into the zex wet kit. i know they come with a throttle position sensor so it only sprays on WOT, although the others prolly have something like that too.

I ran it on my car for a while.
Definately wet kit.

especially since you don't car about the motor, spray it!

Nitrous is only bad if you shoot it when it's not supposed to go, or if it leans out.
hince the wet kit. and you'll want a WOT switch or window switch (RPM window switch) not the up-down window button. Lolz.

it's a very easy install actually and like i've said before, i always recommend using a wot (wide open throttle switch) along with the MSD Digital RPM switch with those 2 things in your nitrous kit, only through a desired RPM range and only at wot will your nitrous be activated.. I also recommend getting a tune for it but you don't have to

A tune is unnecessary, as is a window switch as long as you're being careful and using it correctly.

i was going to get it professionally tuned...

as for the window switch, can you explain in a little more detail please?

What kit do you suggest for the SAFEST (to the car/passengers) set up? obviously i dont expect them to explode randomly, but is one safer than another? does one have a bottle thats prone to leaking? I dont want N2O on my final build... so it will come out eventually... what kit is easiest to install and remove? I was thinking wet kit as well.

can anyone post up a link to what THEY would use on THIER car? :) no wal-mart chevy parts please. :p

a window switch is a controller that only allows it to spray durring an "window" or RPM range. like 3500 to 6000 rpm or whatever.

you don't need one if you manually are controlling the spray.

I got mine from dynotunenitroussystems but I think there is cheaper stuff out there.
I'm actually thinking of taking it off my car and putting it on my 67.

when I had my setup I ran a 100 shot on a stock block. I had a NX wet kit a wot switch and a window switch. IMO this is the safest route, because one the kit is armed (meaning the solenoids are ready) once at wot you wont start spraying nitrous until you are at a desired RPMS for the widow switch.. This allows you to make sure if you drop the hammer at 2k wot you wont bog down (which has been a problem i've seen before with wot kits.

any nitrous kit is very easy to install if it were me and i was buying another nitrous kit i'd get the NX kit and the NX plate (it's a plate that fits inbetween the intake mani) and it has i think 6 spray ports in it which is better than just the 1 you get from the nozzle. again any kit is easy to install, and i also recommend if you are going to go with a wet kit you upgrade your fuel pump to atleast a 255lph pump :)

okay.

wet kit
window kit
wot switch
255lph pump

i was also told its a good idea to get a fuel pressure gage inside the car... is this NHRA legal?
with the set up blown98gt is talking about, will it be automatically sprayed everytime im WOT at that window? or is there a button I use?
will i need to purge for a wet kit?

what else will i need to purchase other than this kit:

you can get a fuel pressure gauge if you want to. the zex kit has everything including the switch so that it spays only at WOT and they have a Active Fuel Controller which is their little fail safe that monitors the fuel pressure. the only extra thing you should really consider is a bottle pressure gauge and a bottle heater.

Wet kit (compucar comes with a WOT switch if I remember correctly)
255 lph fuel pump

You can add all kinds of crap, but it's not 100% necessary. But I've sprayed through dozens of bottles with only the two items above.

Paul.

all the parts i've said are option, essentially all you really need is a good wet kit, pump, and wot.. you'll see best gains with a tune for it, and i think it's a good idea to have a window switch but again those are optional

i usually see them for 80-150 depending on brand and what not. you don't necessarily need one just helps maintain bottle pressure.
