Those of you who went to FI and then back to NA what was your primary reason for switching back? I went FI 2-1/2 years ago and and went through some issues/growing pains and am starting to get tired of the supercharger. I have been gathering parts for a "C" head swap and I am strongly considering a big bore n/a build to clear a lot of parts out of my engine bay.

If I was to go all out 4V N/A it would be a Big Bore off of a 5.4 Block to get in the 360CI range.

I think MMR sells a 360CI Mod Block... would be nasty!

I thought I remember Al Pappito (Boss330Racing) making in the 500rwhp range N/A on setups like that.

I never considered a 5.4 platform. I'm trying to back to something with less headaches and and slightly more room in the engine bay.

Don't get me wrong having a s/c is fun and maybe if it was a twin screw I wouldn't consider changing it but for what I do with the car it really isn't worth having. I had planned on a KB 2.1 when I did my "C" head swap but after I considered what I would get for the Vortech plus the coin I would pay out for a KB it isn't worth it. I'm better keeping the extra cash and build a fun streetable n/a engine.

my 95 GT was boosted and my 94 Cobra is not.

Belt squeaking was annoying on mine. Mostly I just like a strong hard running NA engine. Dont have to worry about lifting the heads or blowing head gaskets. Everyone see's a supercharger and automatically think its so fast, well that is if you have the rest of the supporting mods to go with it. My 302 with 10 PSI, Cobra intake stock heads and cam made less power then my H/C/I 351W on the dyno and was slower at the track.

If i had the time/money to become knowlegable about 4 valve motors. Id love to do a 5.4 N/A build. Somthing similar to al pappito black cobra with the cobra R intake. That thing is a beast.

I have decided on a 4V big bore 324CI stroker for my build. I bought a set of 03 heads from MustangChris and spoke for a FR500 intake from na_svt. I will gather the rest of the parts as time and money allow and use my block as the foundation.

You would never find a Cobra R intake for the 5.4. They make similar lower intakes but the uppers are impossible to find
