I have a 2002 GT engine that's going into my 97 GT pretty soon. I want to make somewhere between 300-400 horsepower to the wheels. I know that I want cams, maybe a stroker kit etc. but I'm not sure which heads to buy. I want something that will sound great, but won't be too un-streetable. I've heard some good things about AFR and Trickflow, but there are so many different brands out there... Any advice???

Thanks! Matt

I say the foxlake or VT heads stage 2s will be ur best bet! AFR and trick flow dont make modular heads, u can only get ford casts basically that have been ported.

My VT heads came in a Foxlake box, they are the same. Modular Power House, Livernois, Steen are all highly recomended. Avoid Patriot like they have Ebola.

no dought, a guy in my car club has 305 rwhp but it has every bolt on to name on the 2v and it has vt stage 2 cams and a tune. Its quick but not quick enough for the money spent. 2V DOG'S lol, pirate joke.

My VT's were done by Fox Lake :)

For a full boogy N/A 2V you can look at some Fox Lake stage 3's which are stage 2's with a hand port done or some MPH (modularpowerhouse) 2.5's or stage 3's...

If you can find them then the SVO/FRPP 2V heads are the best and can be ported to flow upwards of 260-280cfm and you can have them port matched to work with a Bullit or aftermarket PI intake.

VT is just VT engineering, or something like that. They are based in Lansing Mi and build some of the fastest modular's out there. The only people who "make" heads for our car's is Ford. Everyone else just port's them.

They go based on demand, it wasn't until the early 90's they had 5.0 heads, so we are a little behind, but not too bad.

well a set of non ported pi heads with a pi intake and a good cam out performs the H/C/I combo's on the 5.0's lol 4.6's out doing a 5.0 who would have thunk it. Now if someone with some skill would make some killer heads or maybe a set of b heads for my car that gains some velocity i'll be in hog heaven

I would be happy if someone just tooled up to do SVO copies.

Damn right, best 2v heads you can shake a stick at. I would like though, a different style heads....different spark plug placement and chamber style maybe. O and bigger flippen valves... come one bean sized valves suck lol

"Shhhuuuushhhh" don't tell myself about the size of the 4v valves.... or how much its gonna cost to do a 5 angle valve job" "i can't handle that right now" :nonono:

The SVO heads do have bigger valves and more threads in the spark plug to prevent blow out...
You can't make a head with huge valves for our cars because of the bore size. You would probably need a big bore to accomplish that.

And someone should copy them...i'm sure Ford will sell the R&D info and moulds etc.
