Hi, I have 94 GT convertible that I need to change the wheels on, because they are in bad shape.

I know I will get slack for this because they are 20” wheels, which are frowned upon on SN95’s but I already own them. They also have a Saleen/Cobra R concave style look to them,so I believe they will look ok on the car.

Front 20x9 offset 35 bore 72.56

Rear 20x10 offset 40 bore 72.56

What size tire should I go with Front & Rear, without having any issues or modifications done to the car?

I also have spacers on my current wheels that I originally bought in 1998, to make them stick out because they sat really deep in, but I don’t remember how thick the spacers are.

Would I need to use the spacers again, with this type of offset?

Will these wheels work in general?

We had a guy on here who had those sizes once. He’s not around anymore of he’s be able to answer that. Look through Tony’s build thread in his convertible and it might have the info in there.

Do you happen to have a link to his build? I just searched it and I found a Tony with an S10 build, but can’t find the Mustang build.

Both sizes you listed will fit. Your rear tire diameter would be 26.5" as compared to a 295/35/18 which is roughly 1/2" shorter diameter wise. The wodth on the rear would be roughly 10 3/8" which will be no issue. With a 20" wheel combo your gonna want to be able to drop the car quit a bit for it to sit right or it will look like a donker. I have a 345/25/20 out back but im minitubed and dropped enough to tuck it. If your going to keep those wheels i would look up the specs on the particular tire your wanting to run and start measuring. If i were you id be looking to go wider with a shorter sidewall. A tape measure and cardboard will help you more than this forum will as there are more than likely less than 5 cars with 20s on them here.

This has pics of his car with the 20’s. Didn’t see tire specs though. I’d need to find his build thread.

I plan on selling the car and I’ve seen a handful of 20’s in pictures that haven’t looked that bad, but they were all dropped and I don’t plan on spending the money on that.

I think I will bite the bullet and buy some 18x9 Saleen Reps.

What tire size should I go with the Saleen Reps? I’m again at 245/40/18 all around currently.

I'd keep the car do 17 or 18
Rims are actually pretty reasonably priced now and days
Some places eager to sell
Let me hook you up with a site I have used in the past I have to find it

i know i'm a little late to reply, but use this website for a look at how things will sit in the wheel well. you can adjust rim size and and tire size. i use this all the time.

the big issue is overall diameter. almost impossible to keep the tire profile small enough to match stock 25.5" or 26" overall tire diameter. even if you go 35's they are about 1" taller. Thats with using a 275 width. Anyways, mess with this. Might help you.

Gotcha, but any tire suggestions for 18x9 wheels with a +24mm?

I’m assuming with that offset my spacers are no longer needed plus this is a true wheel made for the car.

I was thinking a Front 255/40/18 and Rear 265/40/18 but I’m not sure.

I know now I’m in a common tire size for these cars
