need help CEL

my car is throwing this code.
P0135 Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor Heater circuit fault - Bank No. 1.
Will this malfunction cause loss in performance or make the car run rich? it has thrown this code since i bought it with o/r xpipe. i have since replaced the driverside upstream 02 sensor, completed a pi swap, added cai, bbk78mm t/b and plenum, and an sct x3 tuner. i can clear the code but it comes back on. also it seems my car has black smoke residue on the back bumper (car is white). What is the fix?

I believe thats the same code I got when I swapped my stock midpipe out for my bassani. No loss in performance as my tuner says there is no limp mode from those CEL's.

i talked to sct@american muscle and they said it could cause performance loss but a local mustang tuner says it is no biggie.

Its one of those ask 10 people get 10 different answers questions. I trust my tuner and I had no power loss that I could feel.

but you would think sct knows what they are talking about considering they are the premier tuning company for mustangs. my buddy race team has 5 mustangs 2 of them are running high 8's-low 9's and he does all the wrenching and tuning so he has his shit together...

But who is the SCT Staff at AM? Is it just some AM employee guessing or is it a well known SCT tuner like the ones I use.. IE Don Lasota, or Matt Hill etc.

I am a big SCT fan but they are definitely not all created equal. I am now interested to know who is the SCT guy at AM.
