You could put that motor in. I assume when you say 'stall' you're referring to your torque converter.. but if your wife's GT is an automatic, it already has one, and you can re-use your entire transmission setup.

However, for the price of that engine, you could sell the GT, get her a nice, newer Mustang, and still have some money left over to get her some diamonds and take her on vacation. I wouldn't buy it, simply because it's expensive. Build your own engine, pull one from a junkyard and drop that in, or sell the car and get her something fresh.

Good luck!

Well the wifes 95gt has almost 100k on it. Its an auto. I was thinking of putting this motor in it. http://www.proformanceunlimited.com/specs/302_380/302_380efi.html Can I still keep the stock trani for now or do I need to get a stall?

Please do not buy that motor......Find a machine shop that will sell you a stock rebuilt short block, buy some aluminum heads and intake. Spend a third of what the motor cost. Have someone install it for you. Fresh motor, half of the price and some dough to spend on your girl.

Must admit a short motor sounds a better idea, then finish it yourself. :)

the hardest thing to bild when building a motor is the short block. Having a motor on a stand and putting on the heads and intake yourself is cake. Look into it seriously.
