read the previous posts. I've been through all the troubleshooting. A bad pump would cause more problems and I've already swapped the regulator

So here's another piece of the puzzle. I just noticed this yesterday. Upon decelerating in gear like in 4th driving the car to 4k RPMs and then letting it coast in gear to a stop, i notice my oil pressure gauge in my instrument cluster fluttering. The needle completely drops to the left hand side and bounces like its freakin dancing to the sound of my popping gurggling exhaust! What the hell is going on with this car? Is it a bad ground maybe? The only thing I found was a loose ground wire on where the oil filter screws on to, but its one of those ground wires that has an L shaped boot that pushes onto a stud. Could that be it? Can I cut the boot off, put a spade on and screw a nut to hold it in place?

I found out i had a loose line it wasnt plugged into the fuel pressure thingy which is why mine was doing similar stuff to what you are saying :dontknow:

yea I just tried it out. I have a Fuel pressure gauge and the other guy posting said that my pressure was too ow so I unhooked it which causes the regulator to run WOT pressure all the time and I'm still only getting 40 psi. Anyway my problem now is the loss in oil pressure when letting the car idle down from up high in the rpm range

95PG. Is there two regulators on my car? I know the obvious one that i have that I swapped over with a 96 rail, but there looks like another one over by where the fuel lines connect to the rails on the passenger side. Its in one of the lines. Looks almost exactly the same as a fuel pressure regulator but its on the pass side and spliced inline right before the fuel line connector at the fuel rail.

there's an issue. if it's not seeing vaccum, that FPR thinks you're at WOT constantly and perfectly explains your 40psi all the time. you need to have a direct manifold vacuum source on that, then tell us what your fuel pressure is at idle and at WOT. Should be 60/40. lots of your driveability concerns could be related to just this.

capping it off is not the correct solution - it MUST see vacuum.

Yea I just removed that vacuum hose for a couple of days to see if there was any kind off effect. Its now hooked back on there. My other concern is my fluttering oil pressure gauge in the stock cluster. Under hard acceleration and inbetween shits when accelerating hard it will flutter vigorously.
