well the time has come for me to really pick my direction and amass parts. So im looking at a few things. first off i have a set of gt40p heads im going to port. they will be on top of what ever mill i build. so im not quite sure if i want to go 306 for a car that puts down around 300 at the ground or go 347 and try for at least 350. im not sure the heads can even support a 347 but i have zero plans to buy a set of alloys at this point. I ve seen some impressive numbers out of the gt40 and p's. I have full access to a machine shop so the build and machine work will be free and ill be porting the heads themselves. what sort of power numbers can i expect from a 347 na? ported gt40p's edelbrock performer 2, comp or anderson cam with correct rockers full forged bottom end 75mm throttle body and intake track to support the build 42lb injectors (guessing) jba shorty headers. my biggest dilemma is keeping it clean for cali and of course getting the cash. im kinda hurrying through the post so if i miss anything bring it up. i need to flesh this motor out so i can start putting my list together and slowly order everything. i ran some calculations through dyno sim 5 and the 306 came out with 362hp and 417tq at the crank. this was using the DIYporting.com flow numbers for the heads and quick calculations for compression data with a comp cams xe276hr cam 1.7 rockers 586.1 cfm of airflow based on a 75mm throttle body with small tube headers and no cats. so ive rambled enough lets get a build going.
