Need to know were to buy a piece for Mac exhaust.

Hey guys what is the name for the two pipes that connect the x/hpipe to the mufflers on a mac system? It joints the mid pipe to the mufflers and it can be bolted on and off in both places, on some systems like flowmaster this tube is already welded to the mufflers. I need to buy them because i want to change to an xpipe but the muffler shop that did this job before had no way of bolting the system up since the previous owner hacked the connecting parts of the midpipe so it all had to be welded and theres no way to install a new midpipe unless i weld again but i dont want that.

You need some 2 1/2 inch flow tubes they don't have to be Mac specifically.

what musturd said. flow tubes are what they are called but they don't bolt on both sides. only the mid-pipe connection will bolt. the muffler side will either need to be welded to the muffler or use exhaust clamps.

These guys are right. You should call MAC and tell them what you're dealing with.

Yes they would be flow tubes for sure, either 2 1/4 or 2 1/2 depending on your muffler inlet size.

Like everyone said,flowtubes. But on certain MAC setups they do in fact bolt to a ball and socket joint on the muffler.if you have that style just call MAC directly bc the other universal styles will need to be cut then flared to fit correct.

This guy is right. If you have a newer MAC cat back, the flow tubes bolt on. If you have an older MAC exhaust, MAC makes the flow tubes separately for them, but the older systems had the flowtubes welded onto the mufflers.
MAC systems came in two ways over the years, either with the flow tubes welded onto the mufflers(old system), or the flowtubes have a ball on one end and a socket on the other, and it bolts to the muffler(new system, designed this way to allow smaller boxes and UPS shipping). Good luck with it, call MAC in California and see if they'll sell that part to you separately.

Yeah mine bolt on in both sides, they got welded to the midpipe and it sucks cuz i want to go xpipe and now need to buy two pieces of tubes now. I was just thinking of going with some of the cheap flowtubes and just cut the socket on the mufflers and weld the tubes in.

I think it'll be the same price, less welding, if you go with the proper tubes. Just call MAC main on Monday and they'll help you out. If not, get with me and I'll call around for you.
